THE 5 MAIN BENEFITS OF A CLEAN AND TIDY SITE

“Accidents are less prevalent due to beter organisation and improved cleanliness”
A 8
s a supplier of temporary buildings, one of our most popular requests is to create useful, undercover space to help businesses get organised. Alongside the other many
temporary building uses as product storage, workshops, loading bays and canopies, a Smart-Space building is often the site manager’s best friend. We talk to a lot of on-site operations managers, and the trend seems to be that they are meticulous about their workspaces, with good reason.
CONSIDER HEALTH AND SAFETY A tidy site is much more than just a tidy site. Accidents are less prevalent due to better organisation and improved cleanliness. Hazards are minimised when walkways and communal areas are kept clear, and the potential for injuries is inevitably vastly reduced.
KEEP TRACK OF YOUR STOCK We’ve replaced many containers over the years. They have their uses, but once you’ve fi lled them, as we all tend to do, it’s incredibly hard to keep track of their contents and even more challenging to access everything. One of our clients changed to an instant building after their auditors refused to return unless the stock was stored in a more effective way. It is important to know what you have, where it’s stored and how it can be accessed. It also saves so much time when looking around the site for that all-important piece of equipment you know ‘is here somewhere.’
SECURITY By creating more order, your equipment and stock can be inventorised, meaning it is less likely to go missing, get lost, or need replacing. A lockable building presents an effective deterrent to would-be thieves, something one of our distributor clients found during lockdown when they had a warehouse full of toilet rolls, garden furniture and stationery, all very popular and in short supply at the time.

PROTECT YOUR ASSETS A notable benefi t of bringing your equipment under cover is that you can take care of it more effectively, including having the ability to maintain larger pieces of kit whilst in the storage area. Many of our clients benefi t greatly from stock lasting longer and staying dry as a result of bringing it inside, as well as avoiding the other obvious downsides of wear and tear that the British climate offers!
LOOKING GOOD And fi nally, having a clean and tidy yard, workspace, car park, whatever it is, means your business looks the best it can. It fosters a general sense of orderliness and encourages people to think about where they should be storing their things. There is no doubt that mess spirals into more mess. Taking pride in your surroundings and
implementing the processes needed to maintain a tidy site often starts with a Smart- Space building, some decent racking and that vital, house-proud site manager!
