Hörmann UK, market leaders in the design and supply of industrial doors and loading systems, have introduced a new, innovative movable centre support for its industrial sectional doors. The centre support can be used to connect up to three industrial sectional doors, providing a flexible option to create large openings of up to 30m.

The new centre support is robust yet lightweight and can be quickly and easily pushed to the side on a low-friction track which is installed behind the lintel. This provides operators with complete flexibility by allowing for individual door opening or, if required, the entire opening can be opened to allow clear passage across its complete width. For use on Hörmann industrial sectional doors with a H track application, the moveable support is particularly suited for installations where large openings are commonly required, such as transport facilities, airports, large-scale manufacturing, fitting and service bays. Phil Thorpe, Industrial Division Manager at Hörmann UK comments, “At Hörmann we are committed to providing the market with a comprehensive range of industrial doors which consistently offer high quality materials, safe and secure operation, long life, and excellent thermal performance. The introduction of the moveable centre support for our industrial sectional doors is an innovation that further enhances the range and follows on from the introduction of our Series 60, which when fitted with our WA 500 FU operator can achieve market beating opening/ closing speeds of 1 m/s.

The moveable centre support has been designed to specifically provide operators with maximum flexibility and also offers developers the opportunity to build more adaptable, cost-effective facilities.”

Operator assistance to encourage best practice

AT THE heart of Yale Reliant is advanced dynamic stability technology. This adjusts performance of the lift truck or warehouse equipment in real time, assisting the operator to not exceed the truck’s capabilities. This may be a reduction in travel speed or truck acceleration, or a reduction in lift speed or tilt speed.

Whatever movement may potentially lead to an instability incident can be reduced in intensity or blocked altogether, all while the operator remains in ultimate control of the equipment. Yale Reliant also provides audible and visual alerts to aid compliance with best practices. Yale Lift Truck Technologies director warehouse sales EMEA Ron Farr, says: “Warehouse environments are often complex, and operations are increasingly under pressure to increase throughput and orders picked. However, companies also cannot ignore the importance of occupational safety for everyone working on, or close to, warehouse equipment.

Alimerka enhances supply chain efficiency and sustainability with automation from Cimcorp

Alimerka, a supermarket chain in northern Spain, has integrated automated solutions from Cimcorp to reduce packaging and enhance distribution efficiency. ”When considering the possibility of improving our logistics, especially in the fruit warehouse, we sought suppliers offering proven solutions in our sector,” says Juan Carlos Suárez Fueyo, Logistics Director at Alimerka. “That’s when we came across Cimcorp, a company that had already implemented successful solutions in similar enterprises.”

Efficiency: automation and optimization Alimerka’s goal was to automate processes in its warehouses to enable sustainable growth, optimization of processes, and improvements in occupational safety. Iván Pravia, Head of Technical Department at Alimerka, says: “The basic idea is to be more efficient, and automation is the key to achieving it.” The partnership with Cimcorp provided Alimerka with a solution that not only met their current needs but also allowed them to grow and adapt to future challenges.

Impact on consumers and ergonomics For consumers, efficiency improvements are reflected in the quality of products on Alimerka’s shelves. “When they see fresh and well-organized products,” says Pravia, “they know they are in a place where quality matters. It has provided us with greater order and uniformity in deliveries, resulting in improvements in the health of both store and warehouse workers, with a reduction in the number of accidents. Ultimately, it means greater productivity, more efficient processes and enhanced ergonomics.”

Sustainability and the future

Alimerka has a strong commitment to sustainability and the partnership with Cimcorp has contributed by reducing cardboard usage and improving distribution efficiency. “Automation for Alimerka is key to ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of our sector and can quickly grow and adapt to market needs,” concludes Iván Pravia.
