Pyroban acquires specialist manufacturer Euro Access


Explosion proof safety company Pyroban has announced the acquisition of specialist work platform manufacturer, Euro Access Ltd in Cork, Ireland. The purchase completed this month. Euro Access, founded in 1996, manufactures


ground support equipment specifically used for the maintenance of military aircraft. The specially-designed access platforms enable maintenance engineers to reach the nose cone and other confined areas of the fighter jets. “The area around each aircraft is formally classified as Zone 1, meaning a potentially explosive atmosphere is likely to occur during normal operations, so the access platform must be explosion proof and meet ATEX 2G compliance,” said Steve Noakes, Managing Director of Pyroban. “To support safety, Pyroban was involved in the equipment’s original design process and certification in the 1990s with Euro Access’ founders Paul and Michael.” Since then, Pyroban has continued to supply Euro Access with hundreds of explosion proof


Showcasing the value of measurement


To continue providing Irish manufacturers with local support, The Sempre Group, attended the National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference and Exhibition in Dublin this month. The company exhibited a range of


metrology equipment and consulted the Irish market on how integrating metrology into production can improve productivity and ensure compliance. This was the first physical event that The

Sempre Group attended in Ireland since opening its first Irish office in Dublin this year. Commercial Manager, Jason McGlynn, and Service and Application Engineer, Paul Cullen, provide local support to customers. The showroom houses a range of metrology equipment from a broad supplier base and also acts as a training centre for Irish manufacturers who require more detailed system knowledge. At the exhibition, visitors saw how Optical


CMMs, such as the Micro-Vu and shaft measurement systems like the Opticline, help improve repeatability and accuracy for industries that require high volume, compliant and quality parts, such as medical and aerospace. The Arkite Human Interface Mate, an optical projection system that guides operators with augmented reality (AR) instructions, and the Gelsight 3D topography measurement system, a handheld tool that accurately measures surface roughness and defects, were also shown.


Pall-Ex celebrates 25 years on the road


Pall-Ex has celebrated 25 years in business with an anniversary and awards event. Around 700 guests from UK hauliers, international partners and Pall-Ex Group staff members attended the event in Birmingham this month – which was hosted by the star of Cold Feet, The Hobbit and Line of Duty, James Nesbitt! On its road to success, Pall-Ex has gone from


moving 117 pallets on its first night to transporting over 45,000 pallets per night nationally and internationally. The company was founded by Hilary Devey in 1996; it is now owned by its senior management team and shareholder members. During the awards ceremony, Severn Transport Services (STS) was presented with the coveted

Pall-Ex regional winners were also celebrated, with Moody Logistics & Storage winning for Scotland and the North East and Austin Wilkinson & Sons winning for the North. Matthews Haulage Limited claimed the award for the Central Region, M Pinches & Sons for Wales and the South West and in the South East region, John Bywater Transport Limited claimed the prize.
