Take your shot: Schneider Electric kicks off ‘Score to Win 26’ football competition
Schneider Electric has launched ‘Score to Win 26’, a football-themed competition designed to engage electricians and contractors through interactive gameplay and prizes. Designed as a fast-paced online penalty shootout, Score to Win 26 challenges players to take on a virtual goalkeeper and rack up points based on shot speed, accuracy and placement. Scores are tracked on a live leaderboard, with top performers rewarded based on their ranking. To take part, participants must spend a
minimum of €250 on Schneider Electric products in a single transaction at participating electrical distributors or via selected online partners. Participants will be handed a QR code or weblink, from which they’ll use their invoice number to access the game. Players then step up to the spot, with gameplay
continuing until three shots are missed or saved. Each goal contributes to an overall score, which appears publicly on the leaderboard under the
player’s chosen display name. Top performers on the leaderboard will be
eligible to win a range of prizes, including Premier League tickets (with and without travel and accommodation), signed football shirts from legendary players, such as Pelé, as well as €50 multi-retail vouchers.
Score to Win 26 runs from 1st April until 23:59 on 30 June 2026, with winners determined based on leaderboard performance across the competition period. Full details, including participating distributors, are available at

The Ideas Made Real Transition Year Final Showcase 2026, in March, celebrated over 145 Transition Year students from 12 Irish schools presenting prototypes developed through design thinking and additive manufacturing across Ireland in Explorium National Sport & Science Centre, Dublin. As one of the most anticipated events in the TY calendar, the showcase offered a platform for young innovators to present projects that transformed imaginative concepts into real- world solutions. This year’s event highlighted a strong
focus on sustainability, technology and social impact. Students demonstrated an impressive awareness of global and local challenges, with many projects addressing environmental concerns such as plastic waste, renewable energy and sustainable living. Others embraced digital innovation, creating apps, devices and services designed to improve everyday life; from mental health support to community- based platforms that foster connection and inclusion.
What set the showcase apart was not depth of thinking behind them. Each project told a story of problem-solving, resilience about their design processes, the obstacles

they encountered and how they adapted their ideas along the way. This emphasis on learning through experience is at the heart of the Ideas Made Real programme, encouraging participants to develop key skills such as critical thinking, communication and teamwork. The atmosphere on the day was both celebratory and inspiring. Teachers, mentors, families and industry guests gathered to support the students, creating a strong sense of community and shared achievement. Judges
dedication and creativity of all involved. Beyond the awards, the showcase serves
a greater purpose. It empowers young people to see themselves as innovators and changemakers, capable of making a meaningful difference in the world. For many students, this experience marks a turning point, building shape their future paths. The Ideas Made Real TY Final Showcase 2026 is a testament to what can be achieved when students are given the space to explore, create and believe in their ideas.
