Editor’s note Welcome to the March/April issue of Irish Manufacturing
T
he drinks were fl owing this March, as St Patrick’s Day celebrations brought a real buzz across the country, so, naturally, I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to head over to Dublin for a two-day event hosted by Pure Data Centres Group and AVK-SEG. But it was more than just a St Paddy’s day trip, it was a chance to get up close to the energy and ambition driving the sector. Touring their Fingal facility, I saw fi rst-hand the scale, precision and forward-thinking engineering that continues to position Ireland at the forefront of manufacturing innovation.
One of the standout moments was meeting the Mayor of Fingal County Council, Tom O’Leary. Conversations like these are always a highlight, an opportunity to step back from the factory fl oor and talk

about the bigger picture: regional growth, investment and what the future holds for infrastructure and industry in the area.
My travels didn’t stop there as I made my way to Belfast, this April, where the momentum in Northern Ireland’s manufacturing sector was hard to ignore. Although much less drinking was done, I was able to have some incredibly insightful discussions with industry leaders. It was clear that collaboration and advanced engineering are playing an increasingly important role in the region’s growth.
Another fantastic part of April was getting to create amazing media partnerships, as the team attended MACH, in the NEC-Birmingham, for a walk around the exhibition fl oor. We could feel the pace of change, with cutting-edge innovations in machine tools, automation and digital manufacturing on full display. It’s in creating media partnerships like this that bring us pride. To have Irish Manufacturing at the forefront of manufacturing media really places us at the heart of the industry across both the UK and Ireland, and we couldn’t be more excited.
