UK Greentech, one of the UK’s largest renewables wholesalers, has opened its 17th branch as it continues to support the nation’s transition to Net Zero. The company, a division of Edmundson Electrical, has taken on a newly built, 10,000 sq ft warehousing and retail unit at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate in North Shields.
The outlet builds on the success of its first North East branch in Middlesbrough which opened in 2023 and is now one of the company’s most profitable sites. UK Greentech is the UK’s largest supplier of branded renewables, becoming a one-stop-shop for tradespeople seeking to purchase branded, quality solar panels, heat pumps, cables, batteries, and everything in between.
Brad Capps, Operations Manager, said: “The UK Greentech division of Edmundson Electrical was created
to be a renewables specialist allowing us to offer expert support and service to our customers. “We’ve opened 16 branches
across the UK and Ireland so far and the opening of the Newcastle branch will mark yet another major milestone for the company. “We have a very successful branch in Middlesbrough, which is one of the most profitable across the entire group, so we know there’s a huge market in the North East and Newcastle was the next logical step.” The unit at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate was built by estate owner, UK Land Estates. UK Greentech looked at several sites prior to signing the lease, with Brad citing its ‘strategic location, energy-efficient credentials and general modern appearance’ as being key to influencing their decision.

Renewables centre launches new training to help installers grow in domestic ventilation
Renewables Centre has launched a new Domestic Ventilation Systems course, giving installers the opportunity to build their skills and stay ahead as the demand for compliant low carbon heating and ventilation solutions continues to grow.
Part of Wolseley Group, Renewables Centre developed the course in partnership with NAPIT and ventilation manufacturer Airflow to support tradespeople working across heating, plumbing and electrical sectors. As homes become more airtight and energy efficient, controlled mechanical ventilation is playing an increasingly important role in achieving good indoor air
