RANGE REVIEW: PAINT & FINISHES

TONAL COLOURS THAT ARE AS PRACTICAL AS THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL

We believe that everyone’s New Year resolution for 2025 should be to lean into richer colours. In fact, the inspiration for the Chroma collection’s name came from celebrating colour in all its glory. From warm terracottas to bold greens and serene blues, and versatile neutrals, the Chroma collection features 18 stunning colours that can work harmoniously together or stand boldly on their own. The result of this meticulous process is a collection that is both vibrant and versatile. Colours from the Chroma collection can be used on their own or mixed and matched to create adjacent or complementary schemes, as we have done in our Victorian Pink and Tuscan Red kitchen.

Another considered decision by our design team is the 11 x 11cm square format. The clean geometry offers endless versatility, suiting both minimalist and maximalist styles. Another thing to tactfully highlight is that the Chroma tiles are available at a particularly competitive price point compared to other square tiles in our collection, thanks to the production process of the tile body. Rest assured, we’ve lavished the same care on the glaze, with each tile carefully crafted in our Marlborough factory. This ensures the deep, rich colours we’re renowned for, all at an accessible price. Unsurprisingly, since their soft launch on our website late last year, Chroma is fast becoming one of our best-selling collections. Every tile in the Chroma collection is handmade in our Marlborough factory. Our meticulous process begins with the biscuit, onto which we apply expertly mixed glazes in a palette of rich, nuanced shades. Using over 50 pigments and stains, we create colours with exceptional depth and character. Our unique glazing technique, the waterfall method, involves layering four different glazes to ensure superior coverage and vibrant hues. Tiles are then fired at 1008 degrees in a roller kiln to achieve lasting strength and flawless finishes.

Whether it’s a Tuscan Red kitchen island paired with a Victorian Pink backsplash, a Lichen pantry, a Cosy Green nook, a Cordovan boot room, or a bathroom adorned with Romany Green, the Chroma collection offers endless inspiration. Each colour is designed to standalone or blend harmoniously, bringing your vision to life. DeLow maintenance and highly durable, the

Chroma tiles are as practical as they are beautiful. Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and high-traffic spaces, they bring effortless style and functionality to any home.

CROWN PAINTS TEAMS UP WITH BEAM INTERIORS TO TRANSFORM COMMUNITY SPORTS HUB

Glossop North End Community Club in Derbyshire has officially opened a new sports hub featuring a two-team changing pavilion, forming part of Crown Paint’s ambitious ESG strategy, Project Possible. The project has been delivered thanks to a £1.55 million grant from the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation. It will provide a significant boost to sport in the local area and create an inclusive and welcoming place to play. The bold design was realised by Helena Harrison, Interior Designer at Beam Interiors, and features striking murals created using colour blocking in bright orange and blue shades inspired by the team’s home and away kits. The work was completed by professional painter and decorator Jade Oakes, winner of Crown’s Apprentice Decorator of the Year 2022 competition.

available in 12mm and 20mm thicknesses.

The KönigCeramic range, which is backed by a 25-year warranty, is now available in ten colours. The slabs are crafted using carefully sourced natural minerals that are compacted to high density and fired to a temperature of over 1,200 degrees.

KönigCeramic’s raw materials are 100% natural, resulting in

high anti-UV properties which mean the colour will not fade over time like other engineered materials. This makes them a superb choice for external cladding and other outdoor areas.

Crown by Helena Harrison at Beam Interiors, as part of the brand’s Project Possible, which utilises its expertise and heritage to help transform local spaces like Glossop North End and other grass roots sports clubs in honour of its decade’s long association with top-flight football. Crown Paints donated over 40 litres of paint to support the project, including Crown Trade Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt, which is ideal for high footfall areas like sports clubs due to its extreme durability, allowing for repetitive cleaning and stain resistance. The paint was colour-matched according to the bespoke requirements of the club at Crown Decorating Centre Stockport. Richard Bailey, Architect & Design Consultant at Crown Paints, said: “Glossop North End Community Club plays a crucial role in supporting people in the local area, and it was a real honour to support its transformation.
