PRODUCT NEWS

Ideal as a decorative, protective coating for most building surfaces such as concrete, brickwork, rendering, asbestos, bitumen, iron, aluminium, lead, zinc, copper, timber, slate, most plastics, fibreglass, and cement fibre board. Also suitable for weathered substrates such as creosote, bitumen, galvanising and plastic coated cladding. Finishes available are soft gloss and satin; matt available in black and white only; and metallics (satin finish only).

The iconic and original multi surface, interior, exterior self-priming and self- undercoating paint from BEDEC takes the thinking out of painting. MSP (Multi Surface Paint) was the first water-based product developed almost 40 years ago now, to replace oil-based paints and it was placed on the market in gloss, satin, matt and metallic finishes at the time. MSP is a proven, water-based paint that resists flaking or peeling because of its outstanding flexibility. It will go over most other paints and varnishes. It is non-yellowing and cleans up with water. It can be used directly onto plastic, wood, metal (including radiators), plastic coated steel, cladding, brick, masonry, fibreglass, terracotta, stone, plaster, MDF, tiles, melamine, plastics, UPVC, galvanised steel, aluminium, copper and many more!

Can be applied by brush, roller, conventional H.V.L.P or airless spray. Stir well and check colour before use. Do not apply at air or surface temperatures below 8°C or when likely to rain before the paint has fully dried.

Coverage is approximately 12-14 sq metres/litre per coat when applied by brush or roller, depending on the texture and porosity of the substrate. Dependant on the conditions, MSP will dry in two to four hours, normally re-coatable after four hours at 18°C and 65% relative humidity. Fully hardened after one month. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Available in 750ml and 2.5 litre sizes, with 250ml, 5 litre and 20 litre packs available in a selected range.  01279 876657  info@bedec.co.ukwww.bedec.co.uk

play a small but highly effective part of the solution. Most of the business community already believes long- term solutions are needed. Up to this point, the mind-set

Those in the procurement business have a tremendous opportunity to significantly affect change and contribute positively to the development of our built environments. Whilst paint is not the first product that tends to spring to mind as a source of saving carbon, GRAPHENSTONE’s certified ultra-low CO2(e) profile significantly reduces the carbon footprint relative to traditional plastic-based coatings when specified on projects, something which could see it play a leading role as part of the UK’s future ‘green’ building design strategy. For those architects, designers, constructors, refurbishers or brands looking for innovative products as they transition toward being more sustainable, air-purifying paints can

regarding specification has seen price as the primary motivator. However, now is the time for those with buying power to change their approach and make meaningful changes in material procurement. Developers could be more proactive in specifying ‘better products’ and encourage their design teams to integrate these accordingly. Graphenstone’s clean-tech and innovative coatings have been revolutionising the paint industry with surprisingly significant CO2 and CO2(e) saving benefits for architects, property companies and developers, relative to other mainstream paint brands. The company’s pure lime ranges also offer a remarkable CO2 absorption benefit during the 30-day curing process, capturing CO2 in volume from the surrounding environment (as much as 5kg per 15 litre pot). Ingredients are also sourced locally, and over 50% of the energy used in manufacturing is from local renewable wind and solar.  https://graphenstone.co.uk

Customisable scene lighting wherever you go. The Goal Zero Skylight is designed for any outdoor enthusiast who doesn’t want to stop when the sun goes down.

The early part of the year always brings predictions and 2024 is no different, with interior designers advising consumers on the trends to look out for over the next 12 months. While many of these may not be a surprise – we all work in the field so know what sells – it’s always interesting to see what is expected to be popular at a given time, and to plan around it. Paint trends that have been

predicted include earthy colours, berries and lots of yellow – a welcome splash of colour and one that we are very on board with here at FROGTAPE. But what we find particularly interesting is the ways in which paint is being used and how retailers and suppliers can tap into that with marketing, merchandising and cross-selling. One 2024 trend that has been pointed out by Valspar Paint is unusual angles and abstract designs. This is something that of course requires the right kit and looks really striking so visuals of painted rooms depicting these designs can be used to inspire potential customers, with advice and cross-selling displays. This would not just include a quality masking tape for straight lines, but also a spirit level, good brushes and perhaps small rollers.

Mindful living is another – Wickes pointed out in a recent survey that one of the most relaxing DIY tasks is actually the act of slowly removing FrogTape from a wall, and we totally agree! A huge proportion of our tagged content on social media shared by others is clips of FrogTape being removed: it’s hugely

satisfying. We are delighted to work with partners who also promote the mental and physical benefits of DIY and decorating, through our own posts and content and sponsorships with sports clubs and builders alike. As consumers get more sustainably aware, upcycling is a powerful way for DIYers to decorate their homes, taking existing pieces and adding their own personal twist. FrogTape is a prep tool, no doubt about it. But it taps into all the decorating trends, all year around. By working with retailers, other paint brands, other decorating tools, consumer influencers, designers and decorating professionals, we can continue to tap into and drive decorating trends. And we can keep inspiring end users and driving them into store to buy.  www.frogtape.co.uk
