“As you’ll remember, there is a lot of fun to be had on a Friday
lunchtime”
We, at the DIY Week offices, were pretty chuffed this week to see that Henkel was using the DIY Week Awards logo on its latest £1 million TV ad campaign for its Re-New sealant product. It was also a great surprise last summer when I attended the Hampton Court Flower Show and saw that Positec was brandishing our logo on signs on stand announcing that its Worx Aerocart had taken the title of Garden Hand Tool of the Year. It’s always nice to see companies making the most of their win and the fact that their product was named best in category – and it’s certainly something we would always encourage you to do if you’ve earned an accolade. There’s nothing like having all that hard work recognised.
And, while I’m on the subject of the awards, you will notice from our story on the front page of this issue that the DIY Week Awards is making a move to London next May. For those of you who have attended the Product of the Year
Awards – or the Industry Awards as they were in their previous incarnation – in the past, you will remember there is a lot of fun to be had on a Friday lunchtime and it is a format that we are very excited about reverting back to. More details about the event will be released over the coming months but, for now, we wanted you to get the date in your diary and start planning ahead. Of course, in anything, it’s always good to keep moving and looking forward but it’s also important to give a nod to the past.
