AND FINALLY PJH marches for Macmillan


Employees at KBB distributor, PJH, have raised more than £1,700 between them for Macmillan Cancer Support.. Katy Burns, PJH’s HR business partner for the North, and her fiancé Royston, completed the 13.1-mile Macmillan Mighty Hike in the Lake District, raising £774, in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.


The event, part of Macmillan’s nationwide series of fundraising hikes, challenges walkers to tackle scenic but demanding routes to help raise funds for people living with cancer. Meanwhile, over in


Manchester, John Travis, solutions delivery manager from PJH’s Bolton distribution centre took on the Manchester Marathon, his first ever, completing the full 26.2-mile course in just over five hours despite sweltering heat on the day. His efforts raised £970, nearly doubling his original fundraising target.


PJH’s head of people, Lynn Statham, said: “Katy and John have both shown exceptional determination and spirit, taking on physically and mentally demanding challenges in aid of a fantastic cause. Their


achievements embody the values we hold dear at PJH, which are teamwork, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference.”


PJH has also pledged to match employee fundraising up to a total of £10,000.


Huws Gray Group colleagues conquer Yorkshire Three Peaks


A team of over 30 determined colleagues from the Huws Gray Group has successfully completed the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the three highest mountains in Yorkshire to raise funds for Mates in Mind and CRASH - two charities making a vital difference in the construction industry.

Max Small, owner of M.A.S Roofing in Totton, Southampton, is celebrating winning of £5000 in the SIG Roofing BIG Summer Scratch-off promotion. The nationwide promotion, which ran from June 30 to August 1, was launched to boost footfall across SIG Roofing’s 100+ UK branches, and offered over 20,000 prizes up for grabs, with a total of 15,786 entries received. Small won the grand prize on the very last day of the promotion when his scratch card revealed the jackpot prize.

Selco donates materials to Little Miracles


He said “We call into SIG Roofing in Southampton on a regular basis for our roofing supplies, and I was amazed to find out that I had won the £5000 cash prize on my visit last Friday. I’m still smiling about it.”


Little Miracles, a Peterborough- based charity, which supports families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions, has received a donation of materials from the Peterborough branch of Selco Builders Warehouse. The donation allowed the charity to add an outdoor area to the garden room,at its head office. Pollyanna Edwards, deputy manager of Selco Peterborough, said: “We hope the outdoor space provides many hours of happiness for the children.”


OBM, Otford Builder Merchants, invited over 50 suppliers, customers, and industry experts to their 3rd Annual Trade Day. Held in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the event welcomed guests with a complimentary breakfast and lunch, and offered visitors the chance to explore the latest tools, materials, and industry trends. Attendees included DEWALT, Mannok, ForgeFix, Marsh Industries Ltd, Pavestone UK, Walsall Wheelbarrows, and more, offering exclusive product demonstrations and expert insights.
