AND FINALLY TG Lynes hosts annual Charity Golf Day
TG Lynes has welcomed 49 players to the Marquees Course at the Woburn Golf Club for its annual Charity Golf Day.
A raffle and a Beat The Pro Challenge was held as part of the event, raising a total of £1,370 for TG Lynes’ charity of the year, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.
Laura Janaway, marketing manager at TG Lynes, said: “The Charity Golf Day is always one of the highlights of the fundraising and social calendar. “This year was extra special as we mark our 110th
anniversary and we managed to raise more than ever before. “A huge thank you to our generous and supportive suppliers who dug deep to raise a fantastic amount, which will make a big difference to Noah’s Ark and the invaluable work the charity does.”
The winning team scored an impressive 88 points collectively and the overall player winner scored an astounding 39 points.
TG Lynes added extra excitement to the day by offering players the chance to win a sparkling new Vauxhall Vivaro Van, worth £30,000, if they scored a hole in one at the 176-yard 17th hole.
Walkers take on Hadrian’s Wall challenge
A group of 13 volunteers from various construction suppliers and merchants have taken on and completed the iconic Hadrian’s Wall Walk to raise money for UK con- struction charity Band of Builders. The team tackled the Hadrian’s Wall Path - an 84 mile (135 km) from Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne in the east to Bowness-on- Solway in Cumbria on the west coast - adding on a few miles along the way to hit a total of 90 miles across four days. The team, backed by two support drivers, walked over 20 miles a day to raise more than £20,000 for Band of Builders.
The Hadrian’s Wall team included a group of eight volunteers from DEWALT, which is matching their fundraising, and four volunteers from
Talasey also joined the group for one day of the challenge. Collins 116wx77h BMJ Apr22.qxp_Layout 1 28/3/22 15:48 Page 1 BMJ BRAIN TEASER 1 2 3 4 8 10 11 5 6 7 9 12 13
