Parker Building Supplies manager shaves head for Teenage Cancer Trust


Parker Building Supplies branch manager Aaron Palmer has raised funds for Teenage Cancer Trust with a charity haircut. The Hassocks branch manager has taken ‘bald’ action to support young people facing cancer by cutting his hair, which he had been growing for several years, in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.


Having promised his family he would cut his hair when he turned 50, he chose to combine a personal commitment with charitable giving, and has already raised £880 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The Teenage Cancer Trust is the only

Selco awards £20,000 to Community Heroes Campaign winners


Selco Builders Warehouse has announced four winners of its nationwide Community Heroes Campaign, which celebrates charities and projects through a combination of donated building materials and cash prizes.


The nationwide campaign, running since February 2025, has supported 40 organisations who have each received £1,000 worth of building materials from their local Selco store. Altogether, £60,000 has been gifted to charitable causes, nearly five times more than in previous editions, thanks to record public engagement and high calibre of entries.


First place goes to Cleopatra’s Legacy CIC from Kent, which has been awarded with the top prize fund of £10,000. Second place has been awarded to Together for Cinema CIC, and Third place has been jointly awarded to two organisations, which will each receive £2,500. LATCH (Leeds Action To Create Homes) and SPIN (Supporting People In Need).
