7.Makita cools off 6. Malmo adds new designs
Malmo has added eight stylish new Pressed Bevel plank designs to its Rigid Senses Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring range. The new Senses Pressed Bevel designs include whitewashed effects, warm greys, classic oak and rich brown tones to meet a range of consumer tastes. The flooring features the Valinge 5Gi click installation system which provides even tighter joints, but like the standard 5G system it can still be installed by hand with no need for hammers or tapping tools.
Like all Rigid Senses designs, the new decors offer a 1mm underlay and a wear layer of 0.55mm, with the overall thickness enhanced to 6mm. With a 25 year domestic use warranty and 10 years for light domestic use, the designs are available in plank sizes of 1244mm x 181mm.

The new Makita Cooler & Warmer Box CW002G is suitable for both work and leisure to keep food and drinks at the perfect temperature. The 50-litre CW002G has two battery ports for either 40V XGT or 18V LXT batteries, providing long run times. Alternatively, it can be powered via an in- vehicle 12v / 24v DC power supply, or via mains power supply with a 240v AC adaptor. Moreover, it benefits from a total of 14 inside temperature settings, from -18oC to 60oC. When paired with 2x 5.0Ah XGT batteries, this unit can operate for up to 10 hours at -18oC, 24.5 hours at 5oC and 6 hours at 60oC This is a highly convenient product with a large 50- litre capacity of storage space, tall enough for 2-litre milk cartons. 9.CMS Danskin Acoustics launches REGUPOL barrier
CMS Danskin Acoustics have introduced a new moisture vapour suppressant barrier to aid speedy preparation of floors ready for the installation of acoustic materials and floor coverings. The innovative ‘REGUPOL barrier 99-201’ dries in as little as 30 minutes, depending on environmental conditions, compared with other barriers which can take four hours or even longer. The REGUPOL barrier is a ready-for-use, one part, water-based, low VOC liquid that acts as an effective damp proof membrane for suppressing residual construction moisture and rising damp in cementitious floors including power floated concrete and sand/ cement screeds. Coverage is approximately 25sq m per five litre unit, so the barrier is cost effective compared with other barrier products. Simple to use, REGUPOL barrier 99-201 does not require mixing, so avoids potential product variability, and is applied with a roller. The barrier is white when wet, blue/grey on application and translucent when dry.

Encon adds products from TenCate Encon Construction Products, a specialist distribution division of The Encon Group, expands its range of brands with the addition of global geosynthetic supplier TenCate, and its Miragrid GX and GX T geogrids, available from Encon’s nationwide branches. The biaxial geogrids are manufactured from engineered materials and ideal for subgrade stabilisation and base reinforcement applications.
Miragrid GX is mostly used in the construction of roads and railways, for slope reinforcement in landfill and for retaining structures. The range includes tensile strengths of 30/30, 40/40, 55/55 and 80/80 and is available in 100m lengths.
Miragrid GX T is suitable for short- and long- term soil reinforcement applications. Tensile strengths include 20/20, 30/30 and 40/40 in 50m lengths and 20/20 in 100m length.
