t doesn’t matter what the size of your company is, or how well admired your products are, the first people to notice a slide to complacency are often your customers. In a world of increasing choice, providing high quality products is only part of the offer, and manufacturers who work to meet merchants’ and customers’ needs by continually developing their product ranges will remain one or two strides ahead of the following pack. Polypipe is introducing a number of features as standard to improve upon its wide reaching range of below and above ground drainage products.
Making it happen
Over the past 12 months, through multimillion pound investment in manufacturing methods and strategic partnerships with companies including antimicrobial technologists, Polypipe has been developing products and systems with enhanced features that will help construction professionals overcome construction challenges, from ensuring one-time installation to managing labour skills and resources when on site. These products are already available with our key merchant partners, and there will be more developments in 2019.
For example, Fit-Rite technology has been created and developed to enable simple fitting and removability across Polypipe’s range of waste traps. This allows for easy guidance in tight spaces, such as beneath baths and sinks.

A new ring lock seal allows for quick and easy installation, while the use of single piece moulding manufacturing – a design unique to Polypipe which has gained Kitemark accreditation – offers a glimpse of next generation products focusing on robust durability and uncomplicated design.

Aftersales services
A recent article in Forbes collated a range of research to assert that customer experience is the new brand. With so many different ways for customers to communicate with a company, supplying an effective response is the best way to maintain the reputation of your business. Communication and access to suppliers are valued by tradespeople. For small housebuilders and plumbing experts there is a full dedicated design service based at a new technical office in Doncaster. This service is free and only requires contacting Polypipe to gain access to extensive experience.
The 26-strong team, with previous experience as onsite project consultants, managers and estimators, can give small housebuilders and other professionals an edge in a market that is increasingly dictated by delivery on demand methods.
As part of the design service, the Polypipe team takes plans, supplied in a number of formats, and develops a list of heating or drainage products that would best serve the project. The team can also provide a detailed installation plan.
What we are looking to offer customers across the industry, as a manufacturer in a competitive modern market, is that the purchase of our product is just the start of the relationship with our business, our expertise and our appetite to keep moving forward with new innovation.
With the next generation of soil and waste products being introduced to the market early in 2019, we are a manufacturer that is looking to demonstrate the quality of the service construction professionals receive following purchase matches the quality of our products. BMJ
