Clivet presents Edge F C
livet has introduced its new residential R290 propane line, Edge F, that ensures high performance while protecting nature. Edge F is an innovative air-cooled packaged heat pump for outdoor installation, equipped with R290 refrigerant (propane) characterised by a very low environmental impact index (GWP = 3) and excellent thermodynamic properties. Edge F, available in 7 sizes from 4 to 15 kW, is therefore ideal for residential applications.
Edge F has numerous advantages that make it very competitive:
• Some of the most extensive operating limits on the market to ensure reliable operation in heating down to -25 °C outside air. Edge F also allows production of 75 °C supply water down to -10 °C outside air, making it an excellent alternative to traditional boilers
New user experience: the control system is equipped with a colour graphic interface developed to ensure maximum usability with Clivet design • Possibility of customisation • Space-saving: Edge F is installed outdoors and does not require an indoor unit • Top performance and ease of renovation • High quietness • Modularity: up to 6 units can be combined in cascade • APP connectivity • Control4 NRG: Edge F is also an essential part of the Clivet Smart Living solution • Smart-grid and photovoltaics

Domus Ventilation launches dMEV-NICO fan for new build homes?
D
omus Ventilation has launched a new Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) fan, dMEV-NICO, to provide continuous
background extract ventilation for new build properties. Designed to remove waste and moist air from a single wet room, such as bathrooms and kitchens, dMEV fans continuously extract the waste air at both low trickle or boost speeds which, in the case of the new dMEV-NICO, is automatic thanks to a built in monitoring device which detects occupants’ operation.
For housebuilders, dMEV-NICO provides a cost effective extract solution that has been built to achieve the ventilation rates as set out in the latest edition of Part F and L Building Regulations. It also has low life cycle and maintenance costs, is virtually silent operation, and has a modern, unobtrusive aesthetic that makes it suitable for all styles of home. Highly flexible, dMEV-NICO is suitable for wall, ceiling and window mounting. Wall and in-room installation kits, which come with all the necessary parts to fit the fan – including ducting and grilles – make for a swift, straightforward installation. Set up and commissioning have also been made simple through the provision of a digital control, which also ensures greater accuracy. dMEV-NICO is listed on the SAP PCDB database and comes with a 5 year warranty as standard.

Hybrid system from tackles residential overheating
N
uaire’s Hybrid Cooling System is a cooling extension for its boxed- ventilation range designed to tackle residential overheating and provide a solution that meets Building Regulations. The Nuaire Hybrid Cooling System is an ancillary cooling module that works with the existing Nuaire MRXBOX MVHR products to provide a hybrid MVHR and cooling system – delivering clean indoor air, while combatting overheating – a modern day issue in many high-rise new builds. The new system is an energy efficient, space-saving solution that can be effortlessly integrated to newbuilds that face overheating problems; such as floor to ceiling glazed apartments where natural ventilation is impossible due to environmental and noise pollution outside, and dwellings which are without shade to protect them from the sun’s heat. Andrew Nash, Divisional Manager and Overheating Expert at Nuaire, said: “Although current Building Regulations don’t talk enough about mechanical cooling, in most instances there is no other option. It’s important we tackle this issue and future-proof our residential systems to keep properties healthy and habitable going forward. “With these rising temperatures, 4.6m homes in England already reported to have problems with overheating and more new builds being built set to face these issues, it is time for a fresh look at how we ventilate and create an optimal thermal temperature all year round within a home.

New metallic finish boosts towel rail design credibility
I
ndoor climate solutions provider, Zehnder Group UK, has unveiled new metallic finishes for its Zehnder Alban towel rail.
Previously only available in Stainless Steel Mirror, this modern towel rail will now boast new finishes in Brushed Black Chrome, Brushed Brass and Brushed Bronze thanks to an innovative Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating process.
The new finishes will allow customers to make a standout statement by matching fittings across their room design – from taps and stoppers to showerheads and now their towel rails – creating a cohesive and striking look.
New finishing techniques have pioneered radiator design in recent times and now allow for even more options than ever. PVD coatings, also known as thin-film coating, is a process in which a solid material, such as chrome or bronze, is vaporised in a vacuum and deposited onto the surface of the radiator tubes.
These coatings are not simply metal layers, however, but a process whereby compound materials are deposited atom by atom onto the surface, forming a thin, bonded, metal or metal-ceramic surface layer that enhances the appearance of the radiator.
The Zehnder Alban is the latest in Zehnder’s Studio Collection to get the treatment.
