Diffusion launches its new Modular Highline 275 range at Great Scotland Yard
B
ritish heating and cooling equipment specialist Diffusion has officially launched its new Highline 275 Modular Fan Coil range, at an exclusive event held at historic Great Scotland Yard, London. Developed to create the perfect indoor environment at work and home, the Highline 275 joins Diffusion’s award-winning modular range of fan coil units, alongside the established Highline 235. Providing airflows up to 514l/s, the new higher-capacity Highline 275 units will ensure that even large-scale spaces can benefit from the range’s modular design. Designed with compact dimensions, the Highline 275 range features advanced components that deliver low sound levels, reduced energy consumption, and optimal performance. Comprising eight sizes, including 13 models, the Highline 275 provides specifiers with greater flexibility, eliminating the need to over-specify, ensuring the ideal product for each project.
Alexis Roberts, Channel Marketing Manager at Diffusion said: “The Highline 275 has been developed to meet customer requirements by extending our size range to meet a wider range of projects; improving performance even further with Specific Fan Powers (SFP) as low as 0.12 W/l/s; and making the units easier to service and maintain by adding side specific access. The new Highline 275 is endlessly configurable, and offers quiet, high-performance, energy- efficient heating and cooling for the perfect indoor environment.”

Inta sets the new standard in ball valve design with K Type
I
ntatec, the heating and plumbing product manufacturer, has launched the K Type Ball Valve, an installer-focused evolution of the traditional valve designed for all insulated pipework. K Type replaces the exposed lever found on standard setups with a fixed seal, operated using an Inta adjustment key or a standard 6mm Allen key, enabling the ball valve to be fully insulated without affecting its operation. To operate the valve, users just remove the protective cap, use the key (sold separately) to open or close the valve, and replace the cap.
By removing the external lever, Intatec has made it easier than ever to fully insulate around the valve body. Installers simply leave the coloured cap accessible through the insulation, protecting the system while retaining full functionality. With WRAS approval, the K Type sets a new standard in ball valve design. Darran Bougourd, managing director at Intatec, said: “The K Type Ball Valve has been designed
with installers in mind. We’ve listened to feedback about traditional lever ball valves getting in the way of insulation and servicing. With the K Type, everything an installer needs for heat pump installations is now available from Inta – helping projects run efficiently and safely.” For further information on the K Type Ball Valve, visit https://www.

30/4/25 10:24 Navigator launches new antifreeze valve H
eating and plumbing distributor Navigator has launched its new antifreeze valve onto the market, a part of Navigator’s Midbrass Renewable Range. This antifreeze valve is designed to work seamlessly with heat pumps and other renewable energy systems, providing reliable protection and enhancing system efficiency.
It’s easy to install and prevents systems freezing by detecting when the fluid in the system reaches below 3°C.
The new valve features Automatic Temperature Regulation. The valve automatically opens at 3°C to release water and prevent freezing and closes at 4°C to stop the discharge, ensuring seamless operation without manual intervention.
By releasing water that would otherwise freeze and expand, the valve protects the closed circuit heating system and connected components - pumps, valves and pipework - from potential damage. For absolute peace of mind, it is recommended to install these valves on both the flow and return pipes, accommodating different operating pressures and enhancing system protection. The valve operates effectively within a wide temperature range (-30°C to 60°C) and can handle a maximum working pressure of 10 Bar, making it suitable for various environments and conditions. Constructed from durable materials – DRZ solid brass material - the valve is designed to withstand harsh conditions and provide reliable performance over time. With a sensitivity of ±1°C, the valve ensures accurate temperature control, enhancing the safety and efficiency of the heating system.

Commercial CPD provides invaluable advice on surveying the modern plant room
T
he latest CIBSE-approved CPD from Ideal Heating Commercial – the UK’s market leader of high efficiency commercial heating solutions – is focussed firmly on the modern plant room. It addresses plant room surveying, along with the evolution of the plant room and heat source technology over recent years brought about, in part, through legislation and product innovation.
“Surveying the modern plant room – from boilers to heat pumps’ CPD provides invaluable advice on the various stages involved in surveying a plant room; from assessment and the requirements for a replacement heat source, through to the potential risks associated with heating system replacement and how to identify these. With Ideal Heating Commercial pioneering practical solutions for decarbonising commercial heating, the new CPD concentrates on modern, energy-efficient plant room retrofits using heat pumps. Hybrid systems, which include heat pumps with modern condensing gas boilers as a back-up, are also addressed as an alternative solution where heat pumps alone are not feasible.
The new CPD also looks at latest legislation and regulations, and touches on best practice when commissioning.
This new CPD, ‘Surveying the modern plant room - from boilers to heat pumps,’ is suitable for all levels of mechanical engineers from graduate through to senior, director and associate, sustainability engineers, building services engineers, engineering technicians, incorporated engineers, chartered engineers and YEN Young Engineers, as well as building contractors and consultants.
