A place for renewable fuels?

M

uch has been said and written in recent months about the Government’s ambitious

decarbonisation plans with a renewed focus on heat pumps for new builds and off-grid properties.

Heating in buildings currently accounts for a significant chunk of the UK’s carbon emissions which has necessitated the introduction of low carbon heating solutions. And now with the Government’s pledge to cut emmisions by 78% before 2035, the focus on decarbonising homes has intensified even further.

But trade bodies for installers who service the 1.5 million predominantly off-grid rural households believe this puts them and householders in a predicament.

In our focus on sustainable fuel this month these trade bodies, including Oftec, Liquid Gas UK and Ukifda and manufacturer Rinnai explain why renewable liquid fuels could be key to cutting emissions. Turn to pg 28 for more on this hot topic.

If you’re planning to enter the HVR Awards this year, we have an important announcement about a deadline extension. See the story opposite.
