Uden’s Funeral Directors benefi t from Panasonic’s Advanced HVAC System

U

den’s, a large family run undertakers with seven sites across London and Kent, sought to transform their new site in West Wickham in Kent. This included the installation of a Panasonic low temperature heating and cooling system, utilising PACi NX Elite multi-split units, capable of cooling down to 8°C.

For their West Wickham site, the family sought an HVAC system to deliver effi cient heating and cooling across diverse areas, including the reception, back offi ce, arrangement rooms, hallways, chapel of rest, and the preparation and visitors viewing spaces. Maintaining an ambient temperature of 8-10˚C was crucial for specifi c areas. Panasonic collaborated with experienced HVAC installer, Ken Lockwood of FLR Spectron Ltd (FLR. The installation included fi ve Panasonic PACi split room air conditioning units, off ering optimal heating and cooling for the various spaces. FLR specifi ed Panasonic’s energy-effi cient mix and match low- temperature refrigeration PACi NX Elite multi split units with nanoeTM X technology as the ideal solution for this project. These units provide high energy-savings, powerful performance, reliability, and consistent comfort throughout the space. The units off er a high quality and an effi cient solution for low-temperature applications for facilities such as mortuaries. These units are also ideal for wine cellars, food processing facilities and supermarkets.

The Panasonic PACi NX series covers a wide range of capacities from 2.5 to 25kW. www.aircon.panasonic.eu

WilSon Energy launches new PM Controller for HIUs

E

ast Midlands-based WilSon Energy, a provider of fully integrated heating, metering, pre-payment and billing & bureau services for residential homes and commercial developments, has added a new hydraulic proportional measurement (PM) valve to its spare parts portfolio, as it looks to plug a two-year gap in market supply.

An integral part of heating interface unit (HIU) structure, the PM valve is designed to divert all primary heat to the domestic hot water side of the system, providing the end user with a fast and effi cient hot water supply. WilSon Energy worked directly with the manufacturer to commission a valve which fi ts most types of unit and will be deployed in WilSon’s new own range of HIUs.

The launch is signifi cant, as it will reduce costs and maximise energy

effi ciency for end customers. Due to a shortage in supply, plumbing and heating engineers have had to refurbish existing valves where possible, or even replace entire HIUs, costing time and money.

Andy Wilkinson, chief executive at WilSon Energy, said: “Along with the rest of the sector, we have experienced a growing frustration with lack of product availability, which is why we took the initiative to commission a new alternative PM valve. The hydraulic PM valves off er solutions for HIU parts replacement in KaMo, KVM Energy, Delta Systemtechnik, Meibes, Danfoss- Redan, Flamco, Taconova and many more HIU systems.

Nuaire provides aff ordable cooling for residential development

uaire has had its MRXBOX Hybrid Cooling Systems installed into the new Berkeley Oval Village mixed use development in central London. 103 MRXBOX Hybrid Cooling Systems with Nuaire ducting are being installed into one bedroom apartments at Oval Village within each apartment’s utility cupboards.

The MRXBOX Hybrid Cooling System, which is a cooling extension for the MRXBOX Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) range, combines the heat-exchanger coolth recovery of an MVHR system with the cooling eff ect provided by a DX coil. A wall-mounted room temperature sensor senses indoor temperatures and activates the cooling module automatically when necessary.

The MRXBOX Hybrid Cooling System has been designed to address the issue of overheating in problem areas of developments, where specifi c apartments or groups of apartments cannot be naturally ventilated and where site wide cooling technologies are not an option. The system signifi cantly lowers the temperature of the fresh-air supply for occupant comfort, and enables compliance with Building Regulations Part O which addresses overheating mitigation requirements in new build properties. The MRXBOX Hybrid Cooling System was selected by the consultant on the Oval Village development following an assessment of the acoustics, air quality and overheating. As well as creating a simple solution to overheating in summer months, the units provide a high standard of indoor air quality year round via high- effi ciency MVHR.

For the most compact boiler cascade on the market, choose Stratton from Hamworthy

H

amworthy Heating include in their comprehensive product range the Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boiler. When installed on a Hamworthy low height frame and header kit, outputs from 40-70kW

off er the most compact cascade confi guration available on the market. Considerably smaller than other well-known manufacturers’ models, Stratton mk3 boilers feature a compact footprint, with models up to 70kW measuring only 487w x 577d x 764h. Moreover, when fi tted to a Hamworthy Heating low-height frame and header kit, Stratton mk3 boilers benefi t from a height of only 1474mm from the fl oor to the top of the boiler fl ue connection. These dimensions make a Stratton mk3 cascade the perfect solution for plantrooms where available height and footprint space is limited. Off ering a compact solution with outstanding effi ciency, installing a Stratton cascade also provides several benefi ts over using one large boiler. By allowing multiple boilers to work together for an effi cient and fl exible solution, a Stratton mk3 cascade also off ers added protection against breakdown and system failure.

Suitable for new and retrofi t installations, Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boilers off er a 5:1 turndown ratio, excellent low-class 6 NOx emission across all models, and up to 97% gross seasonal effi ciency. Featuring a durable stainless steel heat exchanger for longevity, the boilers off er exceptional system tolerance and are backed by a fi ve-year heat exchanger warranty.
