CIAT
CIAT UK is rolling out its automated indoor air quality (IAQ) system Epure Dynamics for use in hospitality venues, off ering hotels, restaurants and pubs enhanced levels of protection. The Epure Dynamic IAQ control system is available on CIAT fan coil units and ducted units, and is part of #CIAT4life, a campaign to increase awareness of CIAT’s range of advanced IAQ solutions and services. Epure Dynamics uses a network of calibrated air quality sensors located around a building to continuously measure the concentration of airborne particulates. If the concentration exceeds a pre-set level, the system activates purifi cation mode, switching on a high-effi ciency fi ltration system.
Matt Maleki, Carrier and CIAT UK’s IAQ specialist, said: “Following the reduction of restrictions, the focus on improving IAQ and supporting healthy buildings is more important than ever. Epure Dynamics addresses this and off ers a solution that delivers a higher-quality indoor environment and supports healthy buildings.”

CARRIER
Carrier AquaForce 61XWHZE high-temperature heat pumps operating on ultra-low GWP Hydro-Fluoro-Olefi ns (HFO) R-1234ze refrigerant have been chosen for E.ON’s district heating and cooling scheme in the City of London. The project is anticipated to cut carbon emissions from heating and cooling by customers connected to E.On’s City of London network by up to 50% and will enhance air quality in the city by reducing emissions. The project is part of a multi-million-pound programme by E.ON to improve and upgrade the Citigen energy centre, supporting eff orts to decarbonise the city and transform how connected buildings in the Square Mile are heated and cooled.
The R-1234ze refrigerant used has a GWP of less than 1 and therefore has only a tiny fraction of the environmental impact.
Antony Meanwell, head of Low Carbon Solutions - City Energy Solutions at E.ON, said: “By installing heat pump and geothermal technology at Citigen we’re making a powerful statement of what can be done to reduce carbon usage on a large scale.”

HOVAL
The UltraGas 2 range, Hoval’s latest generation of gas condensing boilers, off ers the option of using hydrogen as an alternative fuel. Moreover, gas-fi red models that are installed now can easily be converted to hydrogen in the future. UltraGas 2 is also compatible with biomethane. With the standardised Hoval TopTronic E controller, the boilers can be combined with any type of heat generator and solar energy system to create hybrid systems that deliver optimum effi ciency with minimal emissions. With a maximum operating temperature of 95°C they suit district heating/heat networks.
The patented Hoval TurboFer heat exchanger uses injection technology to generate turbulence and boost effi ciency, while high and low temperature return fl ow, a large water capacity and the Ultraclean combustion system combine to deliver unparalleled performance. Models are available with output ratings from 125kW to 1550kW (250kW to 3,100kW as a double boiler), and in 10 bar versions for 720, 1100 and 1550kW units.

GILBERTS
Gilberts’ MFS hybrid ventilation unit, the stand-alone ventilation, heating and cooling system has been value engineered. Not only is the new version cheaper whilst retaining its quality and performance, it uses less steel. It also makes it lighter in weight, potentially reducing transport costs structural loadings (and potentially build costs). These make a positive contribution towards its embodied carbon. Being lighter, the MFS further requires less labour eff ort to install. These benefi ts compliment eco-advantages already delivered in the unit. Ian Rogers, Gilberts’ sales director said: “With the drive towards reducing our carbon footprint, MFS benefi ts everyone involved in the building services supply chain, including the end customer/building occupants. It is a genuine ‘win:win’, whether new build, refurbishment, re-purposing. The new MFS typifi es Gilberts’ place as the UK’s leading independent air movement specialist, engineering from concept quality products that meet or anticipate market forces and deliver for the environmental agenda.”

OMNIE
The latest product guide from OMNIE covers all aspects of underfl oor heating as well as the manufacturer’s holistic range of heat pumps, controls, ventilation and hot and cold water distribution. The guide reveals OMNIE’s philosophy of ensuring its fi ve principal technologies work together in what it calls the Whole House System. OMNIE off ers underfl oor heating solutions to suit all types of building, from new-build to refurb, from offi ces to churches: embracing screeded fl oors, timber suspended and batten, fl oating and low build-up/overlay, and even acoustic options. Each of the fl oor types are covered in terms of imagery, heating performance and specifi cations while, for those that require more technical detail, a QR code is provided, which enables the reader to download data sheets and installation guides for each product. The A4 book features high-quality photography and technical drawings to support the various systems and the important fact that they are manufactured in an environmentally responsible way. PAROC
Paroc, the specialist in energy-effi cient and fi re-safe stone wool insulation products, has launched the Paroc Clad system, an innovative full system that protects pipework and ventilation without the need for costly, hard-to- install metal cladding.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor installations, the system is weatherproof, UV-resistant, impermeable to water, and salt-water resistant. It can be used on temperatures up to 680°C, making it ideal for protecting against temperature losses on high-temperature systems and steam lines. Its robust construction also makes it ideal for use in a wide range of areas including chemical manufacturing, the food industry, HVAC, and even coastal applications.
It consists of a highly durable multiple layer composite
fi lm, with a fully metal-free and non-corroding surface. This off ers further application possibilities where rust needs to be mitigated, reduces the weight of a construction, and is maintenance-friendly.
