Johnson Controls
Johnson Controls has released an updated version of its Yorkworks Customer Edition, HVAC equipment selection software for commercial
and industrial applications. The improvements to this edition include updates to Yorkcalc, allowing the user to generate detailed reports and calculate energy use based on chiller plant operating hours and real- world weather data across cities around the globe.
Yorkworks is used by customers, including engineers, building owners and contractors, to select, rate and configure small tonnage chillers, air handling units (including factory-packaged controls), packaged systems and related components. The technology was created with the intent to provide facility decision-makers with the tools they need to select, rate and configure Johnson Controls equipment on their own. This makes for a smooth process during the estimate and bidding phases of a project.

Toshiba
Toshiba has completed its line-up of Super Digital inverter (SDI) R32-based split air conditioning systems. The latest additions to the company’s light commercial R32 range include the new Big Super Digital inverter (SDI)
outdoor unit, available in 8hp and 10hp versions, and a complete range of R32 indoor units including ceiling cassettes, high-walls, consoles and high static pressure duct-mounted units.
The high performance systems have energy ratings of A+++/A++ and deliver cooling with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of up to 7.01, and heating with a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) of up to 4.36, depending on the model and outdoor-indoor unit combination.
As a result of design improvements and system optimisation, the refrigerant charge has been significantly reduced, from 5.9kg in the previous model to 5.0kg in the latest version.

Pump House
Stewart Hoare, director at Cool Training, has provided a review of the Imperial TC-1000 Hi- Duty Tube Cutter from Imperial Tools, distributed by Pump House.
Mr Hoare stated: “I have recently started to use the Imperial TC-1000 Hi-Duty Tube Cutter. “The first use has been on a small AC system for stub cutting. I found the tube cutter to
be of an excellent build standard and finish quality. The cutter felt comfortable in the hand even when wearing gloves. The action of adjusting the cutting blade was both smooth and positive with good feedback through the adjusting knob.
“When using the cutter, the cutting wheel didn’t wander and provided a clean and accurate cut.
“The built -in deburring tool was useful for the occasional job and the simple file on the deburring blade was again handy for the odd job. Having a spare blade built into the tool provided a degree of reassurance knowing that you wouldn’t get caught with dull cutter. “Overall, I was very impressed with this Tube Cutter and look forward to using it for many years to come.”
Pump House has distributed products from Imperial Tools since its parent company, Diversitech, acquired Stride Tools in January 2019.

Williams
Williams’ Gem range of Multidecks adds extensive choice on appliance shape, size, colour and finish. A recent addition to the collection, the G Series, brings a greener dimension to the mix, and Williams has also launched the option of a heated Multideck, called the Scarlet.
The R Series is a slimline range that makes
it possible to maximise every inch of retail space available, while not compromising on storage capacity. The smallest model has a footprint of just 960mm wide by 695mm deep, but with three adjustable shelves it has a capacity of 201 litres. It features an LED display and a wide selection of colour combinations. A variety of accessories and options are available, including impulse snack selection baskets for added merchandising potential, food tray slides, glass shelves, mirrored panels and illuminated shelves.
The G Series is the first series of Williams’ multidecks to use a hydrocarbon refrigerant as standard, reducing energy consumption and with an ultra-low global warming potential and zero ozone depletion potential. All models are available with a choice of thermally efficient self-closing front sliding or hinged glass doors. The doors are double glazed with thermic low emission glass and inert gas for superior thermal efficiency.
