EXPERT & ESSENTIAL SERIES BY DOREY CONVERTING SYSTEMS : PRECISION BACKED BY VISION AND INSPECTION While many machines on the market include standard vision systems for simple defect detection, reaching quicky limits, at DCS, we integrate high performance vision systems into our rotary machines when high precision, quality control and traceability are required. Our rotary machine range is available in two precision levels to meet diff erent customer needs:
MACHINE VISION : CCD CAMERAS TO CORRECT ANY DEVIATION A machine vision system is “the eyes of the machine”. It involves using intelligent camera systems combined with image processing algorithms to analyze material condition and product quality in real time.
On a rotary machine, this means installing high-resolution cameras at strategic points capable of : • Capturing images of the moving material or die-cuts,
• Accurately measure dimensions and check compliance with tolerances,
• Communicate with operating systems to automatically adjust cutting and laminating positions in real time, with accuracy from +/- 6 µm.
Machine Vision thus enables systematic quality control, without damaging fragile materials.

WEB INSPECTION CAMERAS : CONTINUOUS QUALITY MONITORING Web Inspection takes Machine Vision further by applying it across the continuous flow of a flexible material web. This process relies on : • Linear or matrix cameras covering the entire web width,
• Specialized lighting to reveal surface defects invisible to the naked eye,
• Inspection software capable of classifying and precisely locating each detected defect.
• Reading markings (barcodes, DataMatrix codes) to ensure parts traceability. Inspection is performed in real time, without slowing production speeds. As soon as a defect is detected (hole, stain, scratch, print or coating defect), the system alerts the operator or triggers immediate action (stop, reject, notification).
EXPERT SERIES : Accuracy 0.025 to 0.15mm, equipped with advanced industrial vision systems capable of : • Micron-level dimensional adjustments, • Detection of micro-defects invisible to the human eye,
• Multi-layer alignment validation in real time. • Ideal for producing critical prototypes, highly accurate small series, or demanding mass production.
ESSENTIAL SERIES : Accuracy > 0,15mm, equipped with high-performance vision systems tailored for less demanding — but still technically sensitive — applications. • Perfectly suited for manufacturing parts that require excellent quality at a more attractive equipment cost.
ISLAND PLACEMENT: MAXIMIZING MATERIAL USE, MINIMIZING WASTE A unique and complementary innovation is our Island Placement option, available on our rotary machines. This feature enables precise placement of parts side-by-side with optimized pitch, drastically reducing material waste.
