HOW HAVE THE COMPANIES FARED THROUGH THE PANDEMIC? Both Loftware and NiceLabel experienced double-digit growth in 2020, as labelling solutions became critical to supply chain continuity in many industries during the global pandemic.

Loſtware CEO, Robert O’Connor and NiceLabel VP, Ken Moir provide more insight into the merging of their two companies and how they plan to “transform the labelling market”
F
ollowing the announcement in January that Loftware, Inc. and NiceLabel would combine under the Loftware corporate umbrella, Converter conducts a Q&A with Loftware CEO, Robert O’Connor and NiceLabel VP, Ken Moir to find out more about their plans.
HOW WAS THIS MERGE INITIATED AND HOW DID IT AFFECT OR CHANGE THE MANAGEMENT SET-UP AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE COMPANY? The union of the two companies under the Loftware corporate umbrella is the combining of two great organisations that have enjoyed sustained growth over several years and complement each other perfectly. It provides the momentum for significant expansion over the next decade and beyond.
WHAT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES DO BOTH COMPANIES OFFER AND IN WHAT SECTORS?
Loftware brings deep experience in selling, servicing and supporting enterprise labelling and artwork management solutions to large global organisations. It also has a strong presence in North America.
NiceLabel has, traditionally, been stronger in Europe in the channel and for smaller label systems. Its extensive global partner network includes resellers, ISVs, OEMs and print technology partners that deliver NiceLabel labelling solutions and technology. As a combined company we will seize new opportunities and pool our expertise, operating across a wide range of industries including life sciences, manufacturing, food and beverage, retail, automotive, consumer products, apparel and more.
The two companies’ workforces will also combine and continue to grow, making Loftware the largest labelling company in the world, with approximately 400 employees. It gives customers and partners greater choice of solutions and enhanced labelling capabilities. It also brings together 60 years of combined expertise in solving labelling challenges for companies of all sizes throughout a wide range of industries across the globe.
DO YOU HAVE ANY INVESTMENT PLANS FOLLOWING THE MERGE? Yes, there will be greater investment in cloud-based solutions and technologies.
In the short-term, Loftware and NiceLabel expect to see another record year. Q1 has already exceeded the plan and we already see further terrific opportunities to accelerate growth, especially as organisations look to address evolving customer and regulatory requirements and standardise labelling across worldwide operations.
In more strategic terms, the vision is to provide broader labelling solutions in addition to expanded scale, world-class services and global support. Our aim is to use our innovation, combined expertise and market presence to expand opportunities for our channel partners and end customers, providing new solutions to help them grow their businesses. We will fundamentally transform the labelling market and help our customers optimise their supply chain and business operations.
