The importance of a high-quality finish in Adhesive Tape products:

key considerations, best practices and customisation options made in ATyT

The presentation of adhesive tapes plays a decisive role for the end customer. A product may be technically excellent, but if its finish is not clean, consistent and professional, the end customer’s perception will inevitably suff er.

I

n increasingly competitive markets, the appearance of a tape roll, neat, clearly identified, protected and visually appealing, adds value, strengthens the brand and builds trust.

A high-quality finish not only conveys excellence; it also reflects process control, attention to detail and responsibility towards the consumer. For this reason, the customisation of tapes and their components has become a key practice for manufacturers and converters within the adhesive supply chain.

CUSTOMISATION OPTIONS IN THE ADHESIVE TAPE SECTOR

Over the years, the industry has developed various ways of adding both an aesthetical and functional value to adhesive products. These fall into three main categories: 1. Customisation through printed processes in adhesive rolls

This is the most visible and direct option. It involves printing messages, logos, corporate colours or technical information directly onto the support material of the adhesive tape. It is widely used in applications such as corporate packaging, signage, security tapes and industrial identification.

Although this is a comprehensive solution, it is not always necessary. In many cases, the added value can be achieved by acting on other components of the roll without altering the tape itself, this is where the next two categories come in and where we focus our efforts.

2. Customisation of the tape’s components

This form of customisation is increasingly in demand because it keeps the tape itself standard while delivering a differentiated

finish through optimising its structural elements such as: printed inner cores, printed shrink films, individual labels or any other customised packaging.

In this area, Adhesivos Técnicos y Troquelados S.L. has its own in-house capabilities, offering customers greater control, flexibility and reduced lead times: • Customised inner cores: achieved using our own rewinding machinery during the log manufacturing process. This process gives us the possibility of making any kind of product with a printed inner core in its structure maintaining the private brand during the whole lifecycle of the product.

• Printed labels: carried out with dedicated machinery that applies customised labels to each roll, such as those used for insulating tapes or industrial products, incorporating, in label, technical information, branding or specific instructions as required. These solutions are ideal for manufacturers seeking differentiation without modifying the adhesive tape properties, helping reduce costs while maintaining compatibility with their existing logistics chain.

3. Personalised presentations and advanced packaging

When the goal is to create a complete product experience, the next level involves adding tailor-made packaging, from printed shrink wraps to display units, printed boxes or promotional packs.

In this field, to ensure the customer does not have to worry about anything, converters must be able to offer the following services: • A design team responsible for creating mock-ups and defining the printing format, layout and graphic elements together with the client.

• Technical guidance to refine every detail before production.

• Custom shrinking using materials such as printed POF or PVC films that gives a customised individual presentation on each roll.

• Manufacturing blister packs, display units and other customised packaging elements. Adhesivos Técnicos y Troquelados S.L. offers these services with its own resources but coordination with trusted specialist partners is also an alternative.

This end-to-end support ensures that the final presentation matches the approved design, performs correctly and is attractive at the point of sale.

In a market where presentation makes the difference, every element, from a customised core to a tailor-made individual printed cardboard box, adds value. For converters to advance in this area, they must rely on their own resources or on trusted partners capable of supporting each stage of the process, ensuring consistency, quality and repeatability on products served to end users.
