COINADRINK

with demand, the last 18 months have been mind-blowing in terms of the growth with new customers joining us and existing customers expanding their service with us. This presents the challenge of needing extra staff, extra vehicles on the road and increased storage space. We have tackled them all one by one with a £20k investment into our warehouse to add extra pallet racking, a record number of new vans on order and on the road and onboarding new staff weekly. I do think the big challenge we all face over the next 12-18 months and possibly further will be the economic environment as a whole and it will certainly bring us some customers who are simply not going to survive unfortunately. For us, we are constantly learning about our client market places and seeing which industries are doing well, which are thriving and which are struggling, this enables us to focus our marketing strategies in the best way.

5. What sets Coinadrink apart from its competitors? Our commitment to customer service has always been a core value for us, we simply do what we promise to do and exceed our customers’ expectations. The feedback we receive from new customers is the huge difference between what we deliver vs their previous supplier. From industry leading call out times, our use of technology to drive our customer experience to new heights, our personal touch and responsiveness of our team to queries, we take our customer feedback seriously and are always looking at ways we can improve it.

Our other main point of difference and what really saw us excel coming out of Covid has been our longstanding commitment to hygiene procedures. We simply go above and beyond our competition and have a bespoke on-site sanitisation facility where we deep clean all contact parts for our hot drinks machines. We do not spend time on our clients’ sites cleaning pipes and mixing bowls, we take a fully sterilised spare kit with us so we can spend time cleaning areas that other operators simply do not look at. We also use all clear pipes in our machines so customers can see how clean we keep them. This commitment to hygiene has become such an important factor to people now that we are winning business because of it.

6. What are your future plans/aspirations for Coinadrink? We are growing rapidly at the moment, winning lots of new business and not losing much at the other end. What we are achieving now is far exceeding my expectations. We have adjusted our plans for the next 12 months and looking to grow the business by a further 20% after the same growth in our previous financial year. This will enable us to provide more local people with secure jobs and income. We have made efforts to increase everyone’s wages to levels

exceeding the living wage, our team are what make us successful so it is only fair we share that success with them and with the current cost of living crisis this seemed the most impactful thing we could do. Long term we would like to buy our own property, it was always an ambition of my dad’s and I want to see that happen. Coinadrink has always been known locally for our commitment

to staff development, highlighted by our Investors In People Gold accreditation. We have always championed apprenticeships and work experience possibilities. We currently have six of the team undertaking apprenticeships, one of which is degree level. We want to help shape the local area with career opportunities and work with our local educational providers to help bridge skills gaps. Ultimately, I want to be able to leave Coinadrink to my kids in as good a position as it was when I took over, with a healthy balance sheet, a great team of people and happy customers. If I can achieve that then I will be happy.
