VENDING ASSOCIATIONS
An EVA preview of Venditalia European Vending & Coffee Service
Association (EVA) F
rom 6-8 May the key players of the vending
world will meet in Rimini – not Milan – for Venditalia. It is an event that always allows us to see the newest developments in the industry, meet new players and catch up with colleagues and members, and we’re once again looking forward to it. As usual, the EVA will be taking the
opportunity to organise a range of different meetings and presentations on our latest activities. The week of the exhibition includes a meeting of our Board, the machine manufacturers group (EVMMA), the national vending associations, as well as our Technical and Electronic Payment Committees. Another important aspect of the EVA programme at Venditalia will be the presentation of the EVA SmartLink communication specification, as well as demonstrations of its abilities on the EVA stand. With current industry protocols being numerous, fragmented and/or limited, EVA SmartLink – based on OPC- UA - is designed to allow seamless communication between the machine, payment devices and the back office and is anticipated by many players as a tool to help future-proof the sector. The presentation at Venditalia is due to coincide with the public release of the specification, allowing all industry players to download it, test the functionalities and provide technical feedback to the EVA. Looking at the exhibitor list, it also highlights the wide
range of newer companies that have entered or are entering the market. The Venditalia organisers are reporting a strong international flavour with increased exhibitor participation from Spain, France and Eastern Europe. An increased number of non- European companies is also expected. All in all, Venditalia is shaping up to be an exciting edition,
filled with plenty of new industry developments and networking. Hope to see you there!

AVA Live returns with free seminar to tackle major UK employment law reforms
F
resh off the back of our hugely successful AVA Live: On-The- Road event earlier this month, we’re delighted to share that this month (Wednesday 15 April), we’ll be holding our second instalment at the Hilton Double Tree in Nottingham.
The Employment & Recruitment seminar will take a closer
look at UK employment law following the introduction of the Employment Rights Act 2025.
The Act represents one of the most significant overhauls of UK employment law in decades, introducing wide-ranging reforms that will reshape HR strategy, workforce planning and organisational risk management. Businesses will face new compliance obligations as reforms are phased in from April 2026 through to 2027. This will require businesses to proactively prepare themselves for the changes to avoid legal and financial exposure.
The Act brings major implications with changes to the
expansion of day one rights, which includes statutory sick pay, paternity leave and unpaid parental leave. It also strengthens protections around redundancy and dismissal and enhanced duties to prevent workplace harassment including third-party harassment and increased scrutiny from the new Fair Work Agency.
With these changes set to have an impact on all our members,
we urge you to come along to find out how they will affect your business costs and how to manage them.
We will be bringing you key insights and expert analysis from
a range of special guests from the Department for Work & Pensions, HR specialists Quest - our business support company - and one of our newest members, the Talented People, who will look at recruitment implications.
This exclusive event is FREE for our AVA members and will offer some amazing insight, brilliant networking opportunities and a great chance to learn more about employment law and recruitment.
