BEW Electrical Distributors opens new Colchester branch

EW is expanding its network with the opening of a 22nd branch in Old Heath, Colchester, Essex.


Regional sales manager Martin Newnham said: “We wanted to open a third Essex branch due to growing demand from contractors wanting a full service from their local electrical distributor. This location is ideally situated to meet their needs in North Essex and Suff olk.


Branch manager Glen Pettitt added: “I am so pleased with how these premises have been transformed over the past few months. There’s a built-in 24 hour secure collection facility as well as a smart new trade counter to welcome customers in for a chat over a coff ee and discuss their latest project from 6:30 am each weekday.”


Glen continued: “We’re staff ed with local, knowledgeable people who have expertise in solar and EV charging. The newly expanded mezzanine fl oor holds stock of all the essential every-day items that electrical contractors want at a moment’s notice. And if that’s not enough, we also off er free local on-site delivery!” Glen Pettitt, who has over 15 years’ experience within the electrical industry, joined BEW in September 2022. Glen has been actively involved in the set-up of the branch and plans monthly special off ers, supplier training and trade events as well as annual calibration days.


Aico partners with AWEBB to power LEAD Academy

AWEBB (Association of Wholesale Electrical Bulk Buyers) to support the AWEBB LEAD training academy, which will be rebranded as ‘The LEAD Academy powered by Aico’. AWEBB’s training academy provides a pathway into management for their members. Through the training, they can increase their awareness of eff ective sales skills and negotiation, develop their techniques for conducting successful interviews, and gain insights into eff ective business development. Mark Lambert, chief executive offi cer for AWEBB, commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Aico to enhance our LEAD Academy.
