New Ovia Lighting division launched in Ireland O
via has identified an opportunity to capitalise on the growing demand for the Ovia range of lighting and lighting control products
across Ireland. ‘Ovia Ireland’ will bring the Ovia range of lighting products to Ireland via a
dedicated team headed up by Dan Hope, a well-known figure in the lighting industry, who will operate as national sales manager for the new enterprise. Ovia Ireland will operate as a stand-alone business that fully replicates the Ovia business operation in the UK with access to the same products, marketing support, technical support and new product development. Dan joins from Ansell Lighting where he spent time as an area sales manager
before completing four years as national sales manager. He holds the LIA Certificate and is also a fully qualified emergency lighting commissioner. Dan will be responsible for developing sales and contacts across the northern half of the country, while area sales manager Paul Healy will cover the southern half of Ireland. The new Ovia business will be officially launched in September and operate from

a new facility in Dublin. In other Ovia news, Dan Pearson has taken up the position of area sales manager for the North East UK.
FEGIME UK joins EDATA T
he EDA has announced that leading UK independent wholesaler group FEGIME UK will become a member of EDATA in July 2021. It will use the industry data pool as a source of information for its new Product Information Management (PIM) System to drive its
FEGIME digital initiative. CEO Alan Reynolds explained: “Our aim is to add value to our member and Preferred Supplier businesses by offering add-on services that meet the changing needs of the customers, differentiating them from internet companies and less agile wholesalers.”
