New insulating bushes (IB 19 / IB 20 / IB 21 / IB 22)
The use of insulating bushes is always in demand in many technical applications when, for example, screws, electrically conductive connections or even plug contacts need to be insulated from the outside. Insulating bushes are particularly frequently found in connection with electronic semiconductors, in order to mount them insulatingly on circuit boards or on heatsinks. Likewise, suitable insulating bushes can be used to effectively separate different circuits of electronic circuits from each other. Insulating bushes are mainly made of an insulating plastic and are part of the basic semiconductor accessories. Sometimes an exact fit to the respective connection or the required dimensions is of elementary importance for the effectiveness of the insulation. For this purpose, Fischer Elektronik is expanding its extensive range of insulating bushes by four additional designs with the part number . IB 19, IB 20, IB 21 and IB 22. The named insulating bushes have an outer diameter of 6.0, 6.5, 7.5 and 6.9 mm and an inner diameter of 3.1 mm suitable for an M3 screw. The overall height is 2.2, 3.5, 4.0 and 3.4 mm. The new insulating bushes are listed according to UL 94 V-0 and can be used in a temperature range from -40°C to +200°C. The material for the insulating bushes is a thermoplastic and a glass-fibre reinforced polyamide. The dielectric strength ranges from 30 to 38 kV/mm. The various insulating bushes from Fischer Elektronik are excellently suited as insulation and contact protection as well as for the safe insulation of semiconductors. The listed innovations from the product area "Fastening material for mechanical components" as well as all innovations from Fischer Elektronik can also be found at

Omron transparent bash button enhances player experience Robust mechanical button installs in the LCD coverglass for high-speed, tactile interaction
Omron Electronic Components Europe today announced the W7BB- X01 transparent “bash button”, which installs directly into the coverglass of a large display panel to enhance user interaction in casino games and similar applications. The robust, mechanical button is tactile and easy to activate without looking away from the screen. Perfect for applications that need fast action with instant
confirmation, the bash button is used in gaming machines, high-end vending equipment, kiosks, and ticketing systems. With 1.5mm total travel and low installed height, the button complements the modern, unified appearance of equipment fitted with a large display. A 58mm-diameter transparent central area lets the user see the display through the button,
permitting dynamic display of instructions or colourful graphics. Seamlessly physically integrated, and visually coordinated with the GUI, the button also features halo lighting that gives extra flexibility to provide clear indications and create imaginative visual effects. The button can be installed through coverglass up to 3mm thick. Screwless mounting eases assembly
and maintenance, with waterproof sealing to protect against splashes and spills. An 84mm chrome bezel ensures an attractive finish and the button comes with an attached 125mm transparent flat-flex with off- the-shelf 35-pin connector to simplify electrical connection to the host system. The W7BB-X01 has a rated lifetime of four million operations, even when subjected to harsh use,
ensuring high reliability and helping maximise equipment uptime in applications that demand continuous availability. For more information:

Superior EMI shielding for harsh environments requiring extreme performance and reliablility
Now available through Powell Electronics, the supplier of connectors and more for high-rel applications including defence, aerospace and industrial, are Mach-D high-performance D-Sub connectors from Positronic. Designed for use in harsh environments requiring extreme performance and reliability, the devices are built with precision machined shells that provide superior EMI shielding and robustness. Mach-D connectors are available with standard density contacts (MCD series), and high density signal contact arrangements (MCDD series) as well as hybrid versions (MCBX series), which combine power and signal in a single connector body. A wide variety of accessories are also available. The superior design and manufacturing process ensures a very high
quality and reliability. The MACH-D connectors also benefit from integrated hardware eliminating unintentional disassembly, banding options on the rear shell, shell-to-shell grounding strips, shell-to- backshell grounding strips, IP67 sealing options, rear grommets and 36-position keyed jackscews for mechanical keying between otherwise like connectors. MACH-D devices meet or exceed all M24308 Group B testing requirements.

New high-voltage, long-life dry reed relays now rated up to an astonishing 200W
Significantly higher current-carry rating and small size for closer stacking from Pickering Electronics
Pickering Electronics has released yet another high voltage relay within the unique Series 67 range. Now available with the highest power switch in the Pickering portfolio, rated up to an impressive 200W. With a stand-off voltage of up to 8 kV, and capable of 6kV switching with a power rating of 200W, Series 67 relays are constructed using a leadframe in a Single-in-Line (SIL) format and feature former-less coils which results in a smaller package than is usual for this type of device. Commented Kevin Mallett, Technical Specialist at Pickering
Electronics: “Long-life tungsten contacts with a higher power and high current carry capabilities enable Series 67 reed relays to be used in high- performance applications where high reliability is demanded. The unusual SIL package style permits some interesting stacking possibilities making the relays very
versatile when used to construct high-density multiplexers or matrices.” Series 67 dry reed relays feature PCB connections to both switch and coil. Similarly rated sister devices
in Pickering's Series 68 family have PCB connections to the coil and flying leads to the switch which separates the high voltage away from the PCB. Devices are available with 5, 12, and 24V coils with optional internal diode, and in 1 Form A and 1 Form
C configurations. Other voltages can be supplied to special orders as can variations in the lead length of the Series 68 type. The Series 67 dry reed relays suit high voltage applications including electrosolar and cable testing.
