What the exhibitors had to say about the London Shoe Show
“Caprice has had an excellent season with its all “Leather Comfort That Fits” programme. At Kensington, we launched the Milan collection (Number 3 of the season!) Soft pastels, snake and animal prints were particularly well received over the two days. “Our increase in margins, not selling to discounters or to the
ust one week after the MICAM International Shoe Fair, the London Shoe Show again hosted an outstanding event for the medium to upper end of the independent shoe sector.

With the problems being encountered in the multiple and departmental markets, Independent retailers have their greatest opportunity ever to differentiate their offering and allow UK consumers to enjoy the diversity and choice of independent buying.
The sheep–like mentality of the High Street feeds the on-line
frenzy for “uniform” fashion, yet the truly independent retailer can still offer on-trend designs that allow UK retailers to show the spirit and individuality that London is internationally renowned for.
A major reason for the London Shoe Show staying in London is
because it speaks of the individuality of London - Carnaby Street, Petticoat Lane, Sloane Square….the iconic international fashion locations remain in London.
Again the September event surpassed all exhibitors’ visitor
expectations with buying taking place from early Sunday morning to beyond the closing time on Monday evening.
“The event has become a ‘must attend’ for both exhibitors and
retailers- and whilst there is a long list of exhibitors waiting to attend, there is still space to accept visitors” said Justin Morgan, the Show’s organiser.
“The March 3 / 4 2019 event is already sold out- again with a
long waiting list to attend- and whilst the organisers have considered larger venues the overwhelming opinion from both exhibitors and retailers, is that the Tara provides the optimal space for exclusivity and inclusiveness in a central London location
“We look forward to welcoming even more retailers to The LSS at the Tara in March - why not book early and avail of a Spring weekend in the capital- planning for the coming season and experiencing the current?”
“I visited the London Show on Monday 24th September and, I have to say, it was the busiest UK show I’ve attended this season. Retailers and department store buyers alike were clearly there to do business - and the agents on the stands were writing orders.
A hugely popular event, not surprisingly so, as it is the last show of the season, which gives buyers an opportunity to make their final purchases in a relaxed setting, with free refreshments served all day.”
Cheryl T aylor , Editor ootwear T , F oday Magazine.
“The London shoe show was a fantastic success. The timing at the end of the season means that the buyers are prepared to finalise orders so it’s always a good show. This season felt particularly buzzy and the stand was packed for both days. “Unisa had a really strong range this season. We had great
success with our sports styles with “Franci” in ivory/leopard being the stand out. On the formal side Unisa introduced 2 styles in regular and wide fit this season Lasie and Umis. The lower version Lasie was a real crossover style however and was selling well to all ages. Yellow kid suede was a hit for the younger market whilst the more mature customers preferred the neutral nappa style.” Sam Hunt, Unisa.
“We were delighted with the response to the S/S 19 collection from the attendees of the London Shoe Show. We received good orders from genuine stockist who appreciate something a little different. We have a good mix of Shoe Shops, Ladies Clothing Boutiques
and several life style stores, which is a new direction for us.” Nicola Sexton.

public is the successful recipe to win over new retailers ,which we did at the show. Confidence continues to be a little low with this period of uncertainty. We at Caprice are communicating loudly to our retailers that no matter what Brexit , we will honour the delivered prices quoted, to store.” Stephen Joseph, Caprice.
“This was Pikolinos first introduction at the London Shoe Show which was very encouraging indeed. It is a well organised show in a great location and this event enabled Pikolinos to show case our brand within a different distribution channel with more women’s boutique business. As a result new accounts were opened and existing accounts were pleased to see Pikolinos exposed at a higher premium event. We will be returning for the AW19 season.” Russell Galliven- Galliven Agencies Ltd. Agent Pikolinos UK
- Ireland.
“Again Venutti being a multi brand agency offering an extended choice of SS19 styles were found the show to be very busy. Customers were very positive about the collections ,especially where they had a huge choice of colour and material options were showed in increased sales and new customers.” Chris Dagless, Agent Venutti, Brenda Zaro and Carmen Saiz.
