Matara launches new linear rail and shaft clamping elements

atara UK Ltd, specialist in automation, pneumatics and linear motion products, has launched a new


range of linear rail and shaft clamping elements designed and produced in-house and exclusive to Matara. Designed to complement its linear rail and linear


shafting products, the new Matara clamping elements are aimed at machine builders who require their machinery to perform key positioning, braking and holding tasks. The shafting type suits diameters from Ø12 to Ø60, with the linear rail units suitable for linear rails from 9 to 65. The Matara linear rail and shaft clamping elements


range features both manual and pneumatic clamps. The manual clamps - the FRCMAN series of Linear


Manual Rail Clamping Elements and the FRCCMAN LT Manual Clamping Element for Round Bars Light Line - provide simple yet reliable manually controlled clamping. They feature an adjustable locking lever where the contact sections press with sync on the surfaces of the rail. For maximum effect, the floating profiles of contact ensure a symmetrical distribution of the force on the linear guide.

OLEC’s new taraSMART (IP 54) modular suspension arms offer advanced technical features at a lower price point. They are similar to ROLEC’s proven profiPLUS arms but are simpler and more cost-effective..


Elegant and robust taraSMART is designed to support light-to-medium displays, HMI enclosures and panel PCs weighing


up to around 45 kg. The arms are ideal for a wide range of applications including smart factory automation, modern machine control systems, robotics, process automation, medical and laboratory technology and information stations.


This easy-to-install modular suspension arm system offers a choice of rectangular or round aluminium profiles –


both with generous capacity for routing HDMI, DVI and USB cables and network plugs. Each of the two profile shapes is available in four lengths: 250, 500, 750 and 1,000 mm. The round profiles are Ø48 mm, enabling standard panel PCs from leading manufacturers to be fitted without the need for extra adapters.


There are four couplings – all of which


can be specified for pivoting, hanging and upright installations – and six system elements (comprising a base, two elbows, a socket joint, wall joint and intermediate joint). Horizontal alignment of the complete system assembly is possible at all joints.


All the couplings and system elements


are diecast from aluminium silicon alloy (G Al Si 12). The profiles are manufactured from silver-anodised extruded aluminium. All diecast elements are powder coated in light grey (RAL 7035) with plastic covers in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) as standard. Other colours can be specified as an option.

Machinery UKCA Compliance Audit Service

ÜV SÜD today launches a Machinery UKCA Audit service which will support end-users to verify their equipment


complies with new UK regulatory requirements. The Machinery UKCA Audit service is a pre-delivery


inspection that complements factory acceptance tests (FATs). This enables the purchaser to determine if equipment is built and operating in accordance with UKCA requirements before they make a final payment. Any non- compliance issues identified at this stage are still the responsibility of the manufacturer and can be rectified before machinery is delivered, rather than trying to fix issues at an end-user’s site - saving time and money. However, the process of identifying and correcting them at this stage becomes more difficult and time consuming. functionality in mind, samos® PRO from Wieland Electric is a compact modular safety controller for machine and automation control. Part of the samos® range of safety systems, it has multi- functional base modules that are modularly interlinked, extending its safety functions module by module. The compact design of samos® PRO means it offers


the highest possible degree of flexibility, consisting of function modules of only 22.5mm wide and programmable safety solutions from a width of 45mm. These modules can be easily plugged together and are available as input/output, input or relay output units and gateways in conjunction with the controller.
