ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION
maintain or calibrate analytical sensors can impact on efficiency and production costs, and can lead to reduced product quality and unplanned downtime. Cutting- edge process analytical systems with built-in maintenance diagnostics increase process integrity and reduce downtime by predicting their own maintenance and reducing instrument lifecycle costs. New benchmark in thermal flow measurement
T
he new benchmark in thermal flow measurement is the SA from ifm electronic. Quite simply the best and
easiest to use, the SA is optimised for a range of media including water, oils, glycol and air. Not only will the SA measure the flow rate, but the device will also measure the temperature of the medium. The SA series are equipped with the latest sensing technologies for optimum setting and usage, as well as featuring a very flexible design concept to reduce inventory. The SA features a highly visible four-digit display, which
the user can configure to show the flow rate or temperature and to alternate from red to green as required. Unlike most flowmeters, using an SA does not mean
specifying exactly the pipe diameter to find the correct device. The SA consists of a display and evaluation section that sits on the pipe and a probe inserted through the pipe wall into the medium.

Improve Analytical Process Reliablity With Intelligent Sensors I
n sugar, starch, and sweetener industries, maintaining product quality and process safety and control is a constant challenge. Failure to properly
and improves maintenance, which translates into increased process reliability and reduced operating costs. ISM’s real-time diagnostics monitor themselves based process conditions, advising operators when maintenance is required. Sensors with a short remaining lifetime can be replaced pre-emptively before they fail, resulting in higher process integrity and fewer fluctuations in product quality. ISM sensors also offer Plug and Measure functionality, meaning they can be installed and be ready to measure in under a minute.

Automation of dome loaded back pressure controllers D
ome loaded back pressure controllers are often used in processes where constant pressure is needed in a (chemical)
reactor. Electronic pressure controllers are very effective when it comes to automating such processes. The process pressure is set by applying the required pressure
to the reference side of the controller at a one-to-one ratio. The reference pressure can be applied using a manual reduction device, or for process automation, you can use electronic pressure controllers.’ The Bronkhorst Process Pressure Controller (PPC) doesn’t just
reduce gas consumption, it also offers excellent stability. ‘The process side of the dome loaded pressure controller is
often used to process aggressive reactants and by-products at high temperatures. The multiple-orifice design is capable of controlling gases and liquids as well as multi-phase flows.’
