IoT put to the test
Axel Rennoch, Chair of the ETSIworking group testing in TC MTS (Technical Committee Methods for Testing and Specifications) explores new IoT testing specifications for MQTT, CoAP and IEC 62443 industrial systems requirements
completed a first set of test specification standards addressing the IoT MQTT and CoAP protocols, and the foundational security IoT- Profile. These new standards fill the gaps for the quality assessment of some of the most relevant communication protocols and system requirements of today’s industrial IoT systems using standardised testing techniques defined by ETSI. The experts from TC MTS are working on the
T
development of advanced languages for test definition and execution. They are also developing studies, guidelines, test catalogues and test specifications for specific ICT technologies that are not already covered by other ETSI groups. The work is not limited to specific testing
