EMBEDDED WORLD 2019 SHOW PREVIEW
Embedded World 2019: Covering the latest trends shaping the industry
The embedded community will once again come together at the annual Embedded World Exhibition and Conference. Taking place From 26 - 28 February 2019 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, this leading international world fair will focus exclusively on embedded technologies. It reflects the trends in the sector with more than 1,000 exhibitors presenting the state-of-the-art in embedded systems. Here’s more on what you can expect to find

Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg offers the embedded community the opportunity to obtain information about new products and innovations. Some 1000 exhibitors will present state-of- the-art solutions in all facets of embedded technologies, from construction elements, modules and complete systems through to operating systems and software, hard and software tools right up to services covering all aspects of embedded systems. Running alongside the exhibition and
following its major success over the past three years, the panel discussion on 27 February, the second day of the event will enter its fourth round. Under the theme “Safe for the Future”, the conference will once again cover all aspects of the safety and security of embedded systems and the protection of computers and communication channels. The key topic is the protection of networked embedded systems in the Internet of Things. A particular focus of the discussion will be how the differing requirements of data protection (security) and functional security (safety) can be combined with one another and the measures that can be taken to achieve both objectives. The panel discussion on this topic,
moderated by Professor Peter Fromm from the University of Darmstadt, will hear from

three outstanding experts: Professor Peter Liggesmeyer, Scientific Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Development (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Thomas Pilz, Managing Partner of safety specialists Pilz GmbH & Co. KG in Ostfildern, and Nigel Stanley, Chief Technology Officer, Operational Technology and Industrial Cyber Security CoE at TU
̈V Rheinland.
“Safe for the Future, the discussion panel at the heart of the trade fair, has become a permanent fixture at embedded world. We are delighted that we were once again able to get renowned experts on board for this first-class discussion in 2019. It will certainly be exciting to hear again what the safety and security experts have to say on this issue,” says Benedikt Weyerer, executive director embedded world at Nu
̈rnbergMesse.
THE PERFECT FIT FOR START-UPS AND YOUNG COMPANIES For the first time there will be a start-up area at the show. The special presentation area offers young companies from the embedded technology sector an excellent opportunity to present themselves to the international embedded community. The start-up area is located at the heart of the trade fair action in Hall 3A. Companies less than five years old and with no more than 20 employees that wish to introduce their innovative products, solutions, ideas and/or services to an audience of international professionals from the embedded community are invited to present themselves in the start-up area. The special presentation area for German
and international start-ups is designed exclusively for new exhibitors.
STAR-STUDDED EXHIBITION The exhibition halls will be packed with a huge presence of industry specialists, presenting the very latest in embedded systems and applications. Companies such as ROHM Semiconductor will again be exhibiting at the show. At its booth in hall 3A, stand 215, the company will showcase new solutions for power management and sensor technologies in the automotive and industrial sectors. Highlights include ultra-low power
management ICs for battery applications, timing controller ICs for automotive applications, sensor solutions for machine health monitoring, power semiconductors, updates to the discrete products in the RASMID product range, which feature an unprecedented degree of miniaturisation, and much more. Visitors have the opportunity to experience state-of-the- art semiconductor demos and applications. Real-Time Innovations (RTI) will focus on the newest product version of their connectivity software, Connext 6 (hall 4, booth 471). It is specifically designed for highly autonomous systems with large volumes of data, such as autonomous cars and Healthcare systems.
