WEG LAUNCHES FULLY PRE-VERIFIED SYSTEM FOR ISSUING ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATIONS (EPD) FOR ELECTRIC MOTORS

WEG has been approved by EPD International as the first company in the world to have a fully pre-verified EPD tool for electric motors. The tool, ‘WEG EcoHub Version 1.0’, is based on PCR 2022:06 – Electric motors and generators and their parts (for industrial applications) – and is designed for publishing EPDs in the International EPD System in compliance with ISO 14025. This achievement sets a new global benchmark for transparency and sustainability in the electric motor market. EPDs are standardised and verified documents that describe the environmental performance of a product throughout its entire life cycle, from raw material extraction to final disposal. These environmental declarations are widely recognised and provide transparency and reliability, enabling companies and consumers to make more conscious choices aligned with their sustainable

development in goals and CO2e reduction targets. “Our own system for generating EPDs

offers transparency into the lifecycle of our products, empowering customers to make
