ADVERTORIALS Sustainability matters for parts and
components supply While sustainability is a target for heavier industries, its priority in standard parts and components sourcing is rising. Just as measures are being put into place along the supply chain, customers are increasingly sustainability aware. Today at WDS, action is driven by the
Sustainability Task Force. Comprising members from all departments, this ensures that the whole business takes action. This approach creates a scope that ranges from facility management of our Leeds factory, through to product development. The task force also includes all levels of seniority in the business, from junior employees to director-level. Not only does this create innovative thinking on the issues that matter, but it also helps to ensure the sustainability and longevity of WDS itself, and its place in business and society. The Sustainability Task Force is driven by the mission to influence WDS Components in its endeavours to use less of the earth’s valuable resources. This is in effort to reduce the harmful effects of climate change, by becoming more sustainable, in order to improve the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, wider society, and future generations.

www.wdscomponents.com Euroquartz launches new Greenray
radiation tolerant TCXO Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has introduced a new range of radiation tolerant temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) from Greenray Industries Inc. that offer excellent performance in high shock and vibration environments.
Housed in a rugged, radiation tolerant, stainless
steel and nickel-plated package, the new T1276 TCXOs offer frequencies between 2.5 and 120MHz over a wide temperature range from -55 to +125°C. Ultra-low acceleration sensitivity is less than 0.07ppb/g making these oscillators ideal for use in a wide range of applications including high orbit transponders, low orbit nano/micro satellites, RF telemetry systems, multiband terminals and upconverters. The 24-pin DIP package measures 20.3 x 12.7 x 8.9mm and offers protection from total ionising doses up to 200krad (Si). Additional specifications include SEL and SET free to 100MeV cm²/mg, choice of 3.3 and 5V DC power supply requirement and CMOS or sinewave output.

PLS’ Universal Debug Engine® (UDE) 2023 offers many completely new functions for debugging and runtime analysis of embedded software.
Among other things, the analysis and visualization functions for trace data have been
significantly expanded in UDE2023. Thus, the execution sequence chart does not only display the sequence of function calls over time and their nesting depth, now it also shows task states and active interrupt service routines. New convenient zoom, scroll and sort functions also enable fast visual inspection of the recorded information. For further processing of the data with third-party timing tools, the preprocessed trace data can be exported both in Best Trace Format (BTF) and as ASAM MDF (Measurement Data Format).
Specifically, for investigating the timing behavior of an application on the basis of
recorded trace information a global time base has been introduced. This allows the synchronization between individual trace-based analyses and visualizations, for example between the trace window and the call graph analysis.
For maximum flexibility and in order to take full advantage of the powerful capabilities

Smiths Interconnect expands into burn-in test market with
acquisition of Plastronics Smiths Interconnect, a division of Smiths Group plc, announces that it has completed the acquisition of Plastronics Sockets & Connectors (“Plastronics”), a leading supplier of burn-in test sockets and patented spring probe contacts for the semiconductor test market segment, as well as custom connectors for industrial applications. The acquisition brings growth opportunities for both semiconductor test and connectors.
It also provides cross selling opportunities in both Asia and the US by leveraging the combined sales and manufacturing footprint of the companies. Smiths Interconnect President Julian Fagge said: “I am delighted to welcome
Plastronics to the Smiths Interconnect family of technology brands. We are proud of our heritage supplying technically differentiated components critical to our customers’ products and operations. Plastronics fits very well with our long-term strategy, adding new technology, products and capabilities to the business and strengthens our position across our customer base”.

of today’s on-chip trace systems, the established Universal Emulation Configurator (UEC) was also adapted for new on-chip trace units of the AURIX TC4x from Infineon and for the Sequence Trigger Logic Analyzer (STLA) in the devices of the Stellar family from STMicroelectronics.
For MCUs implementing the latest version 4.1 of the Generic Timer Module (GTM) – this Bosch IP comes with a greatly enhanced debug system – UDE 2023 now provides breakpoints and single-step operation for debugging GTM Multi-Channel Sequencer (MCS) code. Together with support for C source code instead of assembly language, this enables developers to simplify application development significantly.
The internal Python console, which allows to use the popular scripting as a command language within the UDE as well, now also includes a script debugger. Thus, scripts for debug and test automation can not only be loaded and executed in the console, they can also be developed and tested there in a convenient way.
The architecture support has also been expanded considerably in the current UDE
major release. In addition to the AURIX TC4x family from Infineon, this includes the ARC architecture from Synopsys, the THA6 controller from Chipower Electronics, the S32K39 and S32K37 general-purpose microcontrollers from NXP Semiconductors, the E1L, E1M- S2, E2H, E2M and RH850/U2B MCUs from Renesas and the SR6 P6 line, SR6 P7 line and SR6 G7 line MCUs from STMicroelectronics. Also new on the support list are the AM243x and AM64y devices from Texas Instrument’s Sitara family and the A8 microcontroller from Thinktech’s Alioth family. In addition, the UDE 2023 can also be used for the first time with the VX1000 measurement and calibration hardware from Vector.
