FEATURE EXHIBITION PREVIEW Engineering Design Show 2019

With over 200 exhibiting companies, practical workshops and informative conferences, the Engineering Design Show will enable visitors to find out about the latest in engineering, electronics and embedded design

R

eturning to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, on 16 – 17 October, the Engineering Design

Show will include a wide range of exhibitors displaying their latest solutions, as well as a variety of workshops and conferences. The event will also feature the Future Zone, where visitors will not only be able to discover how the latest VR technology from RiVR is changing the way humans learn, but will be able to try it for themselves. RiVR can capture any location and recreate it in photorealistic virtual reality. New this year, however, is the Robotics Innovation Hub, which will showcase the latest in robotics design and technology from award-winning companies and innovative start-ups. This interactive space will include demonstrations of robotics from Comau, Sundance, Applied Automation and MakerBot, plus many more. The EDS conference, meanwhile, will offer 24 keynote presentations, with highlights including Microsoft, Sandvik, HP, Automata, ByteSnap Design, Cambridge Consultants and EnOcean. Subjects being covered will include Designing the Unbreakable Guitar, Robotics, Gamification, PCB Design, 3D Printing, and Electric Vehicles. Conference topics will include, for example:

• Democratising robots: The rise of the affordable robot (Automata)

• Mechatronics evolution in the age of digital transformation (Dassault Systemes)

• Bridging the gap from desktop to industrial 3D printing to improve efficiency (MakerBot Industries) • From VFX to real time product visualisation (The Mill)

• Designing removable memory into an embedded system (Nexus Industrial Memory).

2019 EXHIBITORS The exhibition hall will feature the latest technologies, materials, tools, software and services. Here, the organisers are introducing an easy to use one-to-one meeting tool where visitors, exhibitors and speakers will be able to pre-book meetings with key contacts.
