The new Custom Grid Array technology offers a contact
layout using spring probe and target contacts to deliver the same RF performance as cabled coaxial solutions, with improved signal integrity. Interconnect solutions for medical applications must provide high performance and
ensure the highest level of safety. At the same time, there is a pressing market need to make them even smaller, more robust, and more cost-effective. “The Custom Grid Array technology adds an important design option to our offering for
the medical customers”, said Mark Kelleher, Vice President and General Manager of the Connector Business Unit at Smiths Interconnect. “The use of a spring probe based Pin Grid Array allows the designer to customize the number of ground pins used to optimize connector performance for specific frequencies and coil designs saving size, weight, and cost while maintaining the performance of a coaxial channel where needed”, he added.

The THL 30WI series extends Traco Power’s existing 30 Watt DC/DC converter portfolio
with a new generation of 1” x 1” package converters. With the focus on combining cost efficiency and quality this isolated high performance 30 Watt DC/DC converter series is suitable for many different applications.
The series comes in an encapsulated, shielded 1” x 1” x 0.4” metal package and offers
integrated remote on/off and trim functions. High efficiency up to 88% enables the converter to operate from –40°C to +60°C without derating. All models have a wide 4:1 input voltage range and precisely regulated, isolated outputs. The series meets the latest IT safety certifications (UL 62368-1) and is suitable for uses in mobile equipment, instrumentation, distributed power architectures in communication and industrial electronics and everywhere where cost efficiency and quality are critical factors.

Including New Pressure Compensation Glands New PRESSURE COMPENSATION cable glands from OKW protect electronics from condensation in sealed enclosures. OKW has also added black (RAL 9005) as a standard colour to many other cable glands and grommets in the range. The new PRESSURE COMPENSATION CABLE
GLANDS (IP 68) use a ventilated membrane to stop temperature and pressure changes from causing condensation in hermetically sealed enclosures. Water entry pressure for the membrane is > 0.2 bar; RQ = 57 l/h (theoretical air flow rate at 0.07 bar). The new cable glands are available in sizes M12, M16 and M20. They are moulded from light grey (RAL 7035) or black (RAL 9005) polyamide (PA). Clamping blades provide strain relief.
