mproved compensation of differential movement in timber frame structures is provided by ISOBLOCO TMax from foam tape specialists, ISO Chemie. Designed for multistorey timber frame structures,
ISO BLOCO TMax compensates for the large amount of differential movement which can occur between the internal timber wall and roofs and the external brick or block work. Engineered to provide 39 mm of movement and
ensure the joint remains weather tight to a minimum of 450 Pa, equivalent to Storm Force 10 on the Beaufort scale, the tape is the best in class for movement accommodation. Quicktoapply, selfadhesive TMax can also be
used to seal larger joints ranging in width from 11mm to 50mm providing excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties. It can accommodate a temperature range of 30° to +90° and is impermeable to driving rain with a minimum of 450 Pa, making it one of the best performing tapes in its class. Once installed, timber framed buildings are better
protected from elemental factors like wind, dust and moisture ingress by accommodating the changes in structural movement caused by environmental, cyclical and settlement factors. The product remains permanently flexible throughout its life expectancy of 25 years plus.

HSE Testing Confirms Casella Cyclone Air Sampling Heads Reliability
ensure that the heads meet the ACGIH/ISO/CEN (EN 481) standard. The intensive testing has confirmed that Casella’s Cyclone sampling heads meet this standard when sampling at the published flow rate of 2.2 litres per minute. Every Cyclone is manufactured to sample respirable dust at a specific airflow rate; if the cyclone is not sampling correctly at the specified flow rate the concentration of dust can be over or under estimated; a concerning outcome when poor data could have a direct and negative impact on workplace safety and worker health. “The confirmation from the HSE that our Cyclone heads operate

of output is ideal for applications like CRAC units in data centres, MRI suites in hospitals and highend residential humidification. It is also ideal for offering zonal humidity control in branch ducts of buildings, like galleries or multioccupancy offices, where a specific area of the building requires an independently managed humidity level. The Condair RM reduces the cost of consumables,

when compared to electrode boiler humidifiers, as it incorporates a boiling chamber that can be cleaned to remove lime scale, rather than needing disposable plastic cylinders. It is also, therefore, a more sustainable solution. As the Condair RM has resistive heating elements it can operate on RO water, as well as a regular mains water supply. As RO water is virtually mineralfree, scale buildup is nearly eliminated, further improving the service efficiency of the unit. As resistive steam humidifiers, such as the Condair
RM, use a submerged heating element to create steam, they react faster than an electrode boiler humidifier that relies on the conductivity of the water.

ondair is launching the Condair RM, a new low capacity resistive steam humidifier that can provide up to 8kg of steam to a duct. This level
as intended is welcome news”, says Tim Turney, Casella Global Marketing Manager. “Recent testing of cyclones by other manufacturers has shown they were not meeting the EN481 standard, calling into question all past air samples taken with those heads. Our original performance to the standard at a 2.2 litres/min flow rate still stands, giving end users confidence in the results.”

go from strength to strength and models have been used in many domestic, commercial and industrial applications that have a flow requirement of up to 4/l per second. These British built sets combine innovative technology as well as delivering extended functionality, highly efficient permanent magnet motors and multimaster variable speed control. These advances have resulted in a set that is capable of delivering lower running costs and a longer service life, without compromising on performance. Another important factor is that are the ideal choice for both new and retrofit applications. Additionally, these sets are part of the Grundfos Fast

Priva Building Automation on Tour: Building technologies manufacturer takes latest innovations direct to customers
The company believes its touring showcase
offers a safe and attractive alternative to its usual schedule of thirdparty events and onsite briefings. Gavin Holvey, General Manager – UK &
A
leading building technologies manufacturer has announced the launch of a new, safe way to stay connected
with customers, consultants and Partners. Priva Building Automation UK will tour the
UK with its traveling ‘exhibition’, the Priva Bus during October 2020. The Priva Bus enables the company’s UK team to take its innovations and
solutions direct to customers and stakeholders; wherever they are located. The Priva team will plan a route around the UK taking in all four countries within the United Kingdom. Depending on distancing measures in place at the time, customers and partners based in Southern Ireland may need to travel to location across the border.
Ireland comments: “With so many trade exhibitions and face to face opportunities postponed this year, we knew we need to find a safe, alternative way to keep in touch with people. Sometimes, a video call just isn’t enough. The Priva Bus is a brilliant initiative: it will be a place where visitors can learn in a safe environment about our Building Management System (BMS) packages, Cloud Services, natural ventilation and smart, healthy building technologies. And, the real benefit is, we can bring our Priva Bus right to customers’ doorsteps. Companies interested in booking a visit from
the Priva UK Team and the Priva Bus can do so by email, phone or online. Strict social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place to ensure the safety of visitors and Priva’s staff.

WHAT’S NEW SPONSORED BY Improved differential movement sealed with ISO BLOCO T-Max Smith Brothers during lockdown
industry working its way back up to full capacity, Smith Brothers has taken time to reflect on, and celebrate, some of the progress and success stories the business has made since March. During the early lockdown stages, SBS followed government advice and
W
implemented measures to ensure the business could remain operational and available to support supply to critical sectors. This included adopting social distancing measures and increased cleaning whilst restricting unnecessary travel and temporarily reducing staffing numbers through the governments furlough scheme – all steps to help significantly reduce the risk of COVID19 transmission to both staff and customers. Furloughed staff members took the opportunity to hone their product
knowledge by partaking in remote training sessions, ran by supplier representatives from Terrain, Viega, Victaulic, IMI Hydronic, Elysator, Flamco and Aquabion. The feedback from these sessions has been extremely positive. Marketing Officer Emma Purday has also been productive with her time and has completed her Level 4 Digital Marketing apprenticeship a fantastic achievement! Smith Brothers will continue to ensure measures are in place to keep
both staff and customers safe as the business fast approaches full operational capacity.
