SWITCHING TO THE TF1 SIGMA MINI INSTALLER PACK
WHY INSTALLERS EVERYWHERE ARE F
ernox has launched its TF1 Sigma Mini Installer Pack, giving installers everything they need to clean, protect and guard a central heating system in line with BS 7593:2019. Featuring the popular TF1 Sigma Mini filter, the pack is ideal for smaller volume systems with restricted space around the
boiler, including social housing and new build properties. In addition to the TF1 Sigma Mini, one of the smallest footprint system filters on the market, the
pack contains trusted Fernox Cleaner F3 and Fernox Protector F1 265ml to clean and then protect up to 100L/12 radiators/190 sqm of underfloor heating. The pack also contains a Fernox Express Inhibitor Test Pack, making it simple to ensure the correct concentration of inhibitor is achieved to effectively protect the system. One of the newest additions to the Fernox filter range, the TF1 Sigma Mini provides a solution
for systems with limited space around the boiler in which to fit a filter as it only requires a 106mm pipework footprint. The filter is backed by an impressive 10-year warranty and has been engineered to protect the boiler from the damaging effects of circulating corrosion debris using a powerful neodymium magnet. To make future servicing simpler, the TF1 Sigma Mini filter features a unique drain port which allows
for quick and controlled cleaning or draining without the need to disassemble the filter. It also acts as a useful dosing point for the Fernox range of chemical water treatments. Available in 22mm and ¾” versions. Mike Skivington Sales Director at Fernox commented: “At Fernox, we are committed to supporting
heating engineers by simplifying the installation process wherever possible. The TF1 Sigma Mini Installer Pack is a perfect example providing everything professionals need in one convenient package, saving them valuable time on the job”. Established in 1964, Fernox is a leading manufacturer of water treatment chemical products, central
heating system filters, plumbing consumables and diagnostic testing services, and has pioneered the development of energy efficient products both for traditional and renewable technology in domestic and commercial applications. The company operates as a subsidiary business of MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions, a global diversified producer of high technology specialty products and a provider of technical services, and is a business unit of Element Solutions Inc.

NEW APPOINTEE IN STEP WITH ESBE VALUES
H
ydronics manufacturer, ESBE UK can definitely be judged to have appointed the right person to help promote the company’s diverse capabilities, as well as its product quality, with new Business Administrator Molly Laight having just completed a B TEC level 3 diploma at Burnley
College. Having joined the steadily expanding team at ESBE’s new Rossendale premises in June, her responsibilities have included invoicing as well as liaising with customers and the parent company’s headquarters staff in Sweden. Meanwhile she is also continuing with vocational training, supported by ESBE. UK Managing Director, Darren Myers commented: “We had been looking for a post- grad or A-level
student apprentice to join the business with no success – some candidates didn’t even turn up for their interviews - so we were getting fairly down-hearted, as we want to give back to society. Then, however, an email dropped from Molly who had seen our advert on a notice board. After interviewing Molly, both our Technical Manager, Nigel and myself knew she was right for the job. She may lack experience in the sector, but she definitely has the determination and the ability to learn. ESBE is sponsoring Molly through her Level 3 course, with a view to move on to a business degree later. Two months in and we are happy with her progress while our colleagues in Sweden have embraced her.” Molly reported: “I am really pleased to have joined a successful and expanding company like ESBE and, although very different to what I was doing at university, I am finding the work absorbing. I have been to visit the Swedish plant twice where I was made to feel very welcome, and I am also getting to know all the customers here in the UK.”

ACV UK delivers fully electric hot water and heating solution for landmark Canary Wharf building
A
s part of a major decarbonisation initiative in one of London’s most prestigious commercial districts, ACV UK, a leading specialist in hot water and heating solutions, has delivered a fully electric plant
room solution for a high-rise building in Canary Wharf. Featuring E-Tech W electric boilers and Smart L 600 indirect cylinders, the new system replaces the site’s gas fired plant, supporting the client’s transition to a low carbon future. To meet net zero legislation for commercial buildings by 2050, the
project required a system that could eliminate fossil fuel use while maintaining high performance and reliability. The rooftop plant room’s 11th floor location also added logistical challenges, making equipment size, weight, and ease of installation essential considerations. Working closely with the project’s specified contractor, EPPH Ltd, ACV UK provided a tailored solution
comprising four E-Tech W electric boilers and four Smart L 600 indirect cylinders, integrated with air source heat pumps to create a high-efficiency hybrid system. “The Smart L 600 cylinders were the perfect fit,” explains Jamie Lewis of EPPH Ltd. “They offer excellent
heat retention, fast recovery times, and first-class hot water generation as part of this hybrid system. Their tank-in-tank design also helps minimise energy waste and ensures hot water is always available when needed.” The E-Tech W boilers also offered key advantages in this high-rise retrofit. Their compact, lightweight build
and flue-free operation simplified transport and installation, eliminating the need for heavy lifting equipment and complex flue routing. This not only streamlined the installation process but also preserved the building’s architectural integrity. In addition to supplying the new plant equipment, EPPH Ltd delivered a complete mechanical and electrical
overhaul. This included the replacement of all LTHW, DHW, and MCW pipework, installation of thermal insulation and trace heating, comprehensive water treatment, and the integration of a modern Building Management System (BMS) for remote monitoring and control. To complete the decarbonisation strategy, the building’s entire gas supply was purged and permanently
capped, rendering the site completely gas free. Despite the challenges of limited access and working at height, the full retrofit was delivered in just eight
weeks, resulting in a modern, fully electric plant room. With over a decade of experience specifying ACV products, EPPH Ltd credits the reliable performance, product availability, and technical support from ACV UK as key to the project’s success. “We have a great, long-standing relationship with ACV, and this project was no exception,” adds Jamie
Lewis. “Their products consistently deliver, and the support from the team is excellent throughout.” The building now benefits from an energy-efficient, all-electric system that improves operational resilience,
reduces emissions, and supports long-term net zero goals. For more information on the E-Tech W electric boiler and Smart L 600 indirect cylinder range, visit:
