The Tall Buildings Conference provides invaluable insight surrounding the challenges associated with transferring engineering principles from low rise buildings to the super- structures that are making headlines across the UK. With over 50 years of experience in cold rolled steel manufacturing, Hadley Group will be on hand to offer in-depth technical advice and insight into how its light gauge steel framing solutions can benefit major city developers, local authorities, architects, engineers and contractors. Visitors to the Hadley Group stand will be able to learn about the company’s high quality, light gauge galvanised steel structural framing systems. Used in a wide range of applications across the construction industry, including healthcare, education, leisure, commercial and retail, the pre- panelised standalone steel frame structures offer a lighter, easier to erect alternative to steel and concrete primary frames.

As experts in steel framing design, assembly and installation, visitors to the Hadley Group stand will be able to learn about how the company can provide a single solution from concept to completion.

In addition, visitors can also find out about Hadley Group’s capabilities in the modular housing market. The company’s expertise means that it can supply a complete load bearing stand-alone structure, which includes roofs, walls, floors, door/window openings, bracing and external finishes. All of Hadley Group's components are available in customised lengths that can be adjusted as per project requirements. Custom-made components are constructed at the company's world-class facilities in Smethwick before being shipped semi- finished to the construction site where they are ready for installation.

The Tall Buildings Conference will highlight design and building technology innovation in the UK high-rise sector – facilitating learning and knowledge transfer plus providing a platform for discussion and debate. CAREL consolidated results show 16.8% growth

T

he Board of Directors of CAREL Industries approves the consolidated results as at 31 December 2019: consolidated revenues of € 327.4 million, growth of 16.8% compared to 2018. Excluding the contribution from the companies Hygromatik and Recuperator, the growth reached +5.1%,

Francesco Nalini, chief executive officer of the Group, said: "In 2019 Carel reported a solid revenue growth of 16.8% (5.1% on a likefor-like basis) and an EBITDA Margin of 19.3%. These results are even more significant in light of an unfavourable macroeconomic scenario, characterized by a slowdown in the European economy and trade tensions between the United States and China. Even in a non optimal situation, therefore, the performances recorded are particularly positive and reflect the continuous implementation of our multi-year strategic guidelines, which in 2019 mainly consisted in: completing the plan to expand the Group's production capacity, with a two-year investment of approximately 20 million Euros; the process of integrating the two companies acquired in 2018, Hygromatik

and Recuperator, which allowed them to achieve a cumulative growth in revenues of around 10% compared to the previous year; and the signing of the first multi-year contracts for the supply of digital services to important international supermarket chains. In addition, innovation was a focal point, with investments in Research and Development of approximately 18 million (+12.6% compared to 2018) and the constant commitment to search for increasingly sustainable solutions from an environmental point of view. The same enthusiasm that guided us in 2019 will be fundamental to overcome the challenges that 2020 presents us, in particular the recent spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19, which we will face by exploiting the resilience of our recently expanded production footprint.
