AIR CONDITIONING & AIR QUALITY
Some of the latest cool technology New system for a breath of fresh air C
umberland Building Society in Carlisle, Cumbria has been
refurbished with a new heating and cooling system from Samsung
The previous units installed at the building needed to be removed as they did not provide even tem- peratures and air flow across the office space.
Refrigeration Mitton, an Air Con- ditioning supplier, was tasked to provide a system that not only pro- vided a comfortable air tempera- ture, but also reduced draughts and increased air flow across the office. Samsung’s Split Wind-Free™ Cassette System was chosen due to its unique design.
Because of the optimised blade design, the air conditioner cools the room rapidly. Then when in Wind-Free™ operation, the air is
gently dispersed via thousands of microholes into the space to pro- vide unrivalled comfort.
Alex Mitton, director at Refriger- ation Mitton said: “The project was to supply new systems to office areas that were being taken over and refurbished by the Building So- ciety. There were existing systems to remove that were large wall- mounted units but would not pro- vide even temperatures and air flow across the office space. The project took two weeks to com- plete, with everything running smoothly, the client was very pleased with the result”. Cumberland Building Society’s office block has been greatly im- proved thanks to the installation of the Wind-Free™ units. Workers within the office are now able to enjoy a much better cooled envi- ronment with minimal draught.

GH Coastal, an Air Conditioning supplier, designed and installed the cooling solution within the hotel. The team were briefed to re- place the current system, which suffered a major failure due to a major mechanical failure within the unit. Samsung’s WindFree™ cassettes were chosen by GH Coastal due to its innovative draught prevention solution. Samsung’s Wind-Free™ range is designed to bring new levels of comfort to light commercial and commercial applications. The unique optimised blade design means that the air conditioner dis- perses air more powerfully, cooling rapidly. Then once in Wind-Free™ mode, the cool air is dispersed gently through 15700 micro holes, achieving optimum comfort

What’s more, the newly-de- signed Motion Detect Sensor en- ables customised airflow direction by allowing the user to select the desired comfort level, and facili- tates efficient operation by de- tecting the temperature and the movement in the room. John Norman, director at GH Coastal said: “We regularly use the Samsung product range across multiple sites every year, so for us, the Wind-Free™ unit was an obvi- ous choice for the project. The Wind Free™ system was the best suited for this application in terms of comfort, aesthetic appeal and simplicity of use”.
Steve Fleming, head of Air Con- ditioning at Samsung said: “At Samsung, we pride
ourselves on the innovation and quality of our products, which leads to them being used in proj- ects like these time and time again. The Wind-Free™ range has been a popular solution for numer- ous projects across the UK, thanks to its aesthetically pleasing exte- rior, simplicity to use as well as its draught free comfort.”
Experience the Samsung Experience Store S
amsung’s Experience Store in Newcastle has recently been refurbished with a new heating and cooling system The Samsung Experience store offers a relaxed environment where customers can get up close and personal with the latest Samsung products and discover how they can make everyday life more convenient, creative and fun. Airtemp AC Ltd, an Air Conditioning supplier, designed and installed the solution to replace the insufficient air conditioning units throughout the store.
Airtemp AC Ltd used a Mini VRF System, includ- ing three Wind-Free™ Cassettes - two within the retail store area and one to back of house area - as well as a wall mounted AC unit. The project took a week to install and provided a comfortable air temperature within the store.
With advanced technology and a wide range of capacities, Samsung’s VRF systems are a smart solution for buildings that demand higher effi-
ciency, individualised control and installation flexi- bility, like retail stores and small commercial build- ings, making it the best solution for the project. Tom Dullaway, AC project manager at Airtemp AC Ltd said: “This has been my first
project using a Samsung product and I was very pleased with the outcome. We had no issues at all with the installation, and it was quick and simple to fit the unit.
The Wind-Free™ 4way Cassette unit was se- lected as the design of the unit is nice, has a mod- ern look and performance is efficient.” Steve Fleming, Head of Air Conditioning at Sam- sung said: “Our wide range of innovative products continues to be a success for installers nationwide. At Samsung, we strive to deliver an innovative range of products, to help installers select the best solution for the project. We’re pleased Airtemp AC Ltd had a good experience with the installation of our products for this project, and hope they choose to work with us again soon.”
