Ovia’s revolutionary new Inceptor Rio LED Batten

T

he Inceptor Rio is a brand new, cutting-edge range of Ultra Low Glare (UGR >19) LED Batten Luminaires from Ovia. Rio is packed

with innovative features and is engineered to meet the diverse needs of modern environments. As with the majority of Ovia’s Inceptor luminaires, the Inceptor Rio has been tested and meets the requirements of TM66 Assured Product Verification Scheme which is developed and fulfilled by the Lighting Industry Association (LIA) and endorsed by CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) with the aim of advancing circular economy practices within the lighting industry. Inceptor Rio is available in two sizes - 1500mm and 1200mm – and in Standard, Microwave, Emergency and Microwave and Emergency versions. It is CCT switchable between 3000k, 4000k and 6000k colour temperatures and includes a multi-current driver to allow a choice between various wattages. There is a choice of four different wattages with each size of batten - 18-31W on the 1200m batten and 23-40W on the 1500m version. The incorporation of these features allows the installer to customise the luminaire and adjust the design to a client’s individual needs. The Microwave version features a step dim corridor function. The built-in sensor technology allows the luminaire to respond to occupancy, contributing to both energy savings and increased convenience. The corridor function of the Microwave version offers 10% and 30% settings via the DIP switches. These are secondary levels that the Rio dims down to when no presence has been detected after the set time period. This can be used as low level security light that will trigger back up to the maximum upon presence detection. Benefiting from a reliable emergency battery as back-up, the emergency version ensures that there is sufficient optimal lighting to maintain visibility in critical situations and guarantees functionality during power outages. The Inceptor Rio also promises hassle-free installation - the piano key terminal design features

four distinct poles that allow for easy access to speed up the installation process. It offers multiple mountable options – surface, BESA box and suspension cable. It comes with a five year warranty. Rio is the ideal solution for education and office applications. The Ultra Low Glare LED Batten Luminaire ensures a visually comfortable environment while providing optimal light distribution. A brochure featuring the Inceptor Rio can be viewed on the Ovia website – www.oviauk.com – and

or large, commercial projects requiring a robust and reliable CCTV solution, leading security products supplier, ESP, is able to provide an all-embracing solution. From the initial stages which includes scoping

the project, site visits and providing detailed drawings and 3D plans, through to the specification of the CCTV system that will best suit the application, contractors can rely on a team of qualified and experienced design engineers and technical experts to help deliver the ideal solution. ESP’s 24/7 Colour IP POE CCTV range is designed to offer superior, reliable and straightforward installation solutions for a range of applications including larger and more complex commercial projects. Guaranteeing sharp detail, in colour, day or night, the IP POE range includes a variety of cameras offering 5MP and 8MP resolutions and a choice of 8MP NVRs with a range of channel options - 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64-channels. With their ‘24/7’ colour function, the cameras use low light image sensors, which are able to use background light to produce a colour image in reduced light environments. The cameras, which have an IP67 rating for external use, are equipped with infrared LED’s which are the default mode when the white LED’s are not in activation mode. This ensures that the white LEDs are not on constantly, which will be unwanted by some users. The key feature of the NVRs is that they offer the capability of 8MP recording, which means they support high resolution cameras in record, playback and live view modes. With a choice of 4-64 Channel NVRs available, ESP is providing a breadth of NVR capability to support a range of applications from small to large.

Other features and benefits that make the system particularly suitable for larger projects include:

• • •

250 metre PoE function. PoE (Power Over Ethernet) models provide greater flexibility to the installer by supporting cameras up to 250 metres, resulting in the need for fewer additional power supplies and PoE switches required for large cable runs.

Pre-installed Surveillance Hard Drive. ESP pre-installs purpose-built surveillance hard drives. Unlike standard PC hard drives, surveillance drives are designed to operate and handle data recording continuously.

Intelligent record options such as line crossing and perimeter detection. This offers a flexible choice on what triggers the system to record, resulting in more critical recordings and reduced wasted recorded footage.

For these CCTV projects that require larger systems and specific cameras, ESP believes that pre- planning is vital and that producing and working to a professional design will mean the best possible system is specified to get the best results on site. The ESP design service is able to generate computer generated models of a system’s live view from the cameras, a useful tool to ensure a client will have a good understanding of the camera angles and views before committing to the system. As well as providing computer generated previews from the camera locations, the service will provide recommendations for the total amount of cable required for installation, suitable Hard Drive capacity and will also highlight the record duration, resolution and ESP camera part number required - making specifying an installation simpler.

Delivering optimum data centre performance- top to bottom

ith the UK seeing significant growth in data centres(1)- 10% over the next five years and already in the top three countries worldwide-

Gilberts Blackpool meets the challenge of ensuring the sector keeps its cool. The high heat load resulting from banks of servers means cooling is crucial. Gilberts- the UK’s leading independent air movement specialist- has a proven track record in supply of data centre ventilation. Inside the data centre, Gilberts’ GF Series floor grilles deliver air volumes up to 300l/sec with a jet velocity of up to 2m/sec. The GF grilles are available with slimline hit/miss dampers that are position lockable to give finite control over airflow from floor level without hot or cold spots. The dampers are attached to the body grilles and the grilles engineered to replace 600mm square floor tiles to simplify on-site installation and handling. Gilberts produces both standard and extra heavy duty versions, which are tested to withstand loadings up to 4.5KN. Gilberts’ GF range is so efficient, it is the ventilation unit of choice at the Data Centre World Green

Data Centre showcase at ExCel, London. Through the facade, Gilberts’ range of factory-built and site -assembled screening louvres provide the agility to address any through-façade ventilation, balancing 50% free ventilation with weather protection. Its core WH Series represents a radical new departure in terms of high-performance louvres offering

a simple single bank louvre assembly with outstanding weather resistance: testing in accordance with European Standard EN13030 for weather louvre performance shows the WH unit to be 99.5% effective in screening/exhaust applications and 99% effective even with face velocities of up to 1m/sec. Gilberts can manufacture according to specific needs, including fire/smoke control and acoustic attenuation, be it factory- or site-assembled. Says Ian Rogers, Gilberts’ Sales Director: “Good ventilation/cooling is critical to maintain the ambient temperature at the preferred 19-25degress C without ‘hot spots’, to address the significant internal heatload generated from banks of servers, remove that heatload and preserve the relative humidity (RH) level to ensure they function at optimum consistently. Getting it wrong can have disastrous commercial consequences. With our advanced technical services, we can provide a full package of support and product to maintain any data centre’s ambient conditions.” Founded 60 years ago, Gilberts Blackpool is Britain’s leading independent air movement specialist,

and is unique in its ability to develop air movement components, be it ‘mainstream’ or bespoke- entirely in-house, from initial design through tooling, production, testing and supply, at its 140,000ft2 manufacturing facility. Its state-of-the-art test centre, designed and built in-house, is one of the most technically advanced in the country.
