Embracing SANHA’s Lead-Free Fittings: Safeguarding Water Quality and Health

I

n the realm of plumbing and water infrastructure, ensuring the purity and safety of drinking

water is paramount. One company that has been leading the charge in this regard is SANHA, with its revolutionary lead-free fittings crafted from silicon bronze (CuSi). Since their introduction in 2009, SANHA’s lead-free fittings have stood as a beacon of reliability, longevity, and unparalleled performance in drinking water installations. SANHA boasts the longest market experience with copper alloys, a testament to its commitment to innovation and excellence. What sets SANHA’s lead-free fittings apart is not just their longevity in the market, but also their impeccable track record. These fittings have never exceeded legal limits, underscoring their steadfast adherence to stringent quality standards and regulations. The choice of silicon bronze for SANHA’s fittings proves to be both technically superior and hygienically well suited. Silicon bronze is highly resistant to dezincification, a process wherein zinc leaches out of brass fittings, compromising their structural integrity through corrosion and potentially contaminating the water supply. By utilizing silicon bronze, SANHA ensures that its fittings maintain their integrity over time, safeguarding water quality and public health. SANHA’s comprehensive range of lead-free fittings includes threaded, press, and transition fittings, catering to a wide array of installation requirements. With sizes available up to 54 mm, SANHA supplies plumbers and contractors with versatile solutions that meet the demands of diverse projects. The advantages of SANHA’s lead-free fittings extend far beyond technical specifications. They represent a commitment to environmental stewardship, public health, and sustainability. By eliminating lead from drinking water installations, SANHA contributes to the collective effort of creating safer and healthier communities. In an era where water quality concerns are increasingly prevalent, SANHA’s lead-free fittings offer peace of mind and reliability. They embody the intersection of cutting-edge technology, rigorous quality control, and continuous dedication to excellence. As the world continues to prioritize health and sustainability, SANHA stands at the forefront, setting the standard for safe and reliable drinking water infrastructure.

Transformative Illumination at Tübingen Public Library

I

n a visionary project, TRILUX and Oktalite have left an indelible mark on the newly refurbished Tübingen Public Library, Germany, turning its 500 square meters

into a haven of modernity and innovation through cutting-edge lighting solutions. The project showcases a fusion of interior and exterior lighting expertise, drawing from the impressive portfolios of TRILUX and Oktalite.

Core Task: Bookshelves and Reading Tables The municipal library, boasting a collection of around 150,000 media and serving approximately 1,000 daily visitors, underwent a comprehensive transformation during the renovation. Focused on delivering exceptional lighting solutions, the project prioritised the illumination of traditional bookshelves and designated reading areas. The E-LINE NEXT LED system in black takes centre stage, ensuring well-lit bookshelves and optimal reading conditions. This sophisticated strip light complies with UGR19 and CRI 80 standards, embodying a commitment to both functionality and aesthetics.

In a Class of Its Own: The Lounge Area In communal spaces, lighting played a dual role – contributing to the overall design while enhancing functionality. The Much Moon pendant luminaire and B.VEO TRACK spotlight from the Oktalite Retail range were strategically selected to create a captivating lounge ambience. The combination of these luminaires not only adds an aesthetic dimension to the library but also enhances the functionality of the lounge area.

Holistic: Exterior and Entrance Area The visionary lighting scheme extended beyond the library’s interior to include the exterior façade. Two SKEO Q wall luminaires, flanking the entrance door, cast an enchanting glow upon the façade. Complementing this, the FINEA light channel in the striking “Mikado” configuration transforms the entrance into a masterpiece of contemporary artistry, providing exceptional illumination and an expression of quality and creativity. Smart: Lighting Management for More Sustainability The lighting system integrates smart technology to enhance sustainability beyond aesthetics and functionality. All luminaires are networked, and sensors for light management have been seamlessly integrated to optimise energy consumption. This innovative approach enables the library to effectively harness natural daylight through its large windows. In essence, the Tübingen Public Library sets new benchmarks in lighting quality, ambience, and sustainability, transforming the library visit into an exceptionally appealing and eco-conscious experience.

New Elucian REC Isolator Switch from Click

lick Scolmore continues to expand its Elucian consumer unit range to provide electricians with the broadest possible range of units and protective devices to cater for all installation requirements. The latest addition to Elucian is a new REC Isolator Switch, which is designed to make the

connection of consumer unit tails to the electricity supply highly secure as well as much easier and more convenient. In several regions of the UK, REC isolator units have become an integral component of the residential power supply setup. These units feature a front cover divided into two segments, allowing contractors and supply authorities to securely seal and lock off their respective ends, effectively thwarting any unauthorised access. This arrangement not only enhances security but also proves to be a time- and cost-saving measure. By enabling the connection of the supply tails directly to the REC unit, it obviates the need for repetitive visits by contractors and supply authorities to establish the final connection, thereby streamlining the process. Unlike most REC units which do not come with a lid, Click has kept the design of the Elucian version

in line with the rest of the Elucian range. The lid is also compatible with CUELOCK which can also help ensure that there is no unauthorised access to the entire unit. The lid can be propped open using the rotatable tab to allow the split covers to be removed without being impeded. The unit includes 100A Mains switch and SPD module. It features 6 x 32mm knockouts, and a 60mm

x 60mm square knockout in the back which is compatible with CUCEPS. It also has 2 x metre tail clamps to secure cables coming and going from the main switch. The Elucian by Click range can be viewed on the Scolmore Group website – www.scolmore.com - as well as on the Scolmore Group app.
