New Pre-plumbed ASHP Cylinder from Baxi Speeds Up Installations

W

ith the increasing demand for air source heat pumps

(ASHPs), Baxi is helping engineers simplify and speed up installations with the launch of the Baxi ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder. Designed specifically to work with Baxi ASHPs, the Baxi ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder provides optimal heating and hot water performance while helping homeowners save energy. The cylinder helps installers

save time on installation as much of the pipework and fittings are already in place. Additionally, the cylinder comes pre-wired, further simplifying and reducing time needed on electrical connections. The new cylinder is available in capacities of 170, 210, 250 or 300 litres to ensure installers have the

flexibility needed for a wide range of projects, with its compact footprint also enabling installation into an airing cupboard or smaller space. Due to its extra-large coil designed specifically for use with heat pumps, Baxi’s ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder delivers faster heating times and increases the availability of hot water. The cylinder is well- suited to homes with multiple bathrooms thanks to high flow rate of 76 L/min and its in-built back-up immersion heater. The intuitive integrated controller enables direct control of domestic hot water and central heating.

With the addition of an optional accessory kit, heating can be controlled across 2 zones. To simplify commissioning, the cylinder comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity so that engineers

can wirelessly connect to the Baxi Commissioning Tool via the Baxi Start App. If used alongside the Baxi uSense 2 Smart Room Thermostat, the homeowner can access remote comfort control. Manufactured from "Duplex" stainless steel for superior quality and corrosion resistance, the tank

comes with a two-year warranty as standard, with 10-years on the inner tank. Rob Pearse, Residential Business Director at Baxi, said: “We’re continually looking for new ways to support installers and that’s why we’re excited to bring our new Baxi ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder to market. It’s been designed from the ground up to make installation and servicing simpler for engineers and provide the reliable and efficient heat and hot water that will keep their customers happy.” For more on Baxi’s new ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder, visit our website.

ewkesbury, UK – 15 April 2025 — Viega, a global leader in press connection technology, is helping preserve the UK’s most treasured landmarks with press systems trusted in sensitive heritage environments.

From the British Library and Banqueting House to the National Gallery, Queen’s House, and National Maritime Museum, Viega’s press systems are delivering reliable performance while protecting historic structures. With no hot works, fast installation, and German-engineered precision, Viega helps contractors meet strict regulations without delay or disruption. “As a fifth-generation family business, we understand the importance of long-term thinking,” says

Drew Clough, Marketing Manager, Viega UK. “Our press technology delivers not just performance - but peace of mind in buildings that have stood for centuries.” The UK government recently announced a £270 million investment in arts, museums, and heritage

sites., Over £30 million has been allocated for vital maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, therefore the need for systems which are proven to protect these sites is more important than ever. Viega press technology delivers a flame-free alternative to traditional pipe connecting methods like soldering or welding – a key requirement in heritage buildings where hot works are often prohibited. Viega’s solutions, including Megapress, Profipress, Viega Smartpress, and Sanpress Inox, support safe and long-term upgrades across both public and private sectors.

Case Studies: Trusted Where Quality Counts

Banqueting House, Whitehall This Grade I listed jewel of British architecture underwent a complete re-servicing with new pipework, heat pumps, and connections to the Government Property Agency network. Contractor CSP Specialist Projects chose Viega Smartpress, Sanpress Inox, and Profipress systems to overcome space constraints and ensure fast, flame-free installation.

British Library, London Tasked with integrating new Solar Thermal and PVT panels into a working building housing 170 million priceless artefacts, Solaris Energy turned to Viega Megapress and Profipress.

Queen’s House, Greenwich As a scheduled ancient monument, Queen’s House demanded meticulous planning and execution. Red100 installed Viega’s Profipress and Sanpress Inox systems without the need for hot works, ensuring both safety and structural preservation of this 400-year-old masterpiece.

The National Gallery, London Even during major heating and HVAC upgrades, the gallery remained open – thanks to Viega Megapress. Its clean, fast installation minimised noise and disruption in this sensitive environment, protecting priceless artworks and visitor experience alike.

National Maritime Museum, Greenwich With only 24-hour shutdown windows and the need to protect temperature-sensitive artefacts, Capri Mechanical Services turned to Viega Megapress and Profipress. Press technology enabled fast, clean, and contamination-free connections to update the chilled and heating systems – all without disrupting operations or risking damage to the museum’s historic collections.

Modern Engineering, Timeless Protection Viega’s continued presence in the UK’s most iconic historic buildings showcases its commitment to preserving the past while enabling modern performance. With a comprehensive product portfolio Viega delivers tailored solutions for every application, from delicate restorations to large-scale infrastructure upgrades. “Whether you’re working on a Tudor palace or a Victorian landmark, Viega provides more than
