doors with a thermally broken profile system – the GCprofile Therm offer a solution. The GCprofile Therm
accommodates up to 32 mm glass thickness in either twopane insulation glass with 2x ESG 6mm, UG value 1.0, or threepane insulation glass with 3x ESG 4 mm, UG value 0.8.
The profile system uses slim aluminium frames which reduce visible sightlines by approx. 30 mm – giving designers greater ability to produce a clean design aesthetic while providing greater efficiency. With increased performance for
leaf weight of up to 140 kg, the GCprofile Therm also boasts improved air tightness (compared to other ISO profile systems), better sound insulation and improved wet weather durability aided by its fit and an optional floor guide with drainage. It can be combined with manual and motorised GEZE hook bolt locks, without losing thermal separation and the appearance of the system remains discreet, even with locking. A new brochure has been produced to
explain the package. This is available by calling the marketing team on 01543 443015 or emailing

uceco has recently supplied LED luminaires for the first waste to energy facility in the UAE. The project aims to achieve zero
waste to landfills processing over 37 tonnes of nonrecyclable waste per hour and generating up to 30 megawatts of electricity, powering around 28,000 homes. The process converts the waste into heat which is then used to drive an electrical turbine. There are many hazardous areas in industry
that require specific luminaires where the operation of lighting could pose a risk. Luceco offers a full range of LED luminaires approved for all ATEX and IEC Ex zone 1 and zone 2 hazardous area environments, including UL /CSA C1D2 installations. Designed for the most extreme environments, the range includes
Flood, Linear, Bulkhead, Bay and Crane luminaires, with emergency and industrial versions also available. The Sharjah Waste to Energy plant installed ATEX luminaires throughout many hazardous areas including the boiler area platforms, turbine hall, flue gas treatment area, air cooled condenser area and waste bunkers. The plant will divert more than 300,000
tonnes of solid municipal waste from landfill each year greatly assisting with environmental goals for the Emirate. Cost effective, energy efficient lighting from Luceco will also help to meet this impressive facilities energy management strategy.

Stelrad CPDs now available online
but they are now also available conveniently online.
S The Covid pandemic has seen a switch to
working from home for many traditional consumers for CPDs and want flexibility to complete their learning at their own convenience at a time to suit them. You can simply go to the Stelrad website at
www.stelrad.com/cpdonlinetraining/ open the programme at your convenience, digest the information and take the test at the end of the presentation and submit your answers. If you’ve passed, Stelrad send a certificate for you to add the CPD points to your running total for your professional body.

telrad Radiators popular CIBSE and RIBA accredited CPD programmes are still available for facetoface presentations,
“We’re finding people enjoy boosting their
CPD totals at times that suit them – evenings and weekends seem to be particularly popular and we’re delighted to be able to provide these options via the website,” says Stelrad’s Head of Marketing, Chris Harvey. There are three CPDs available – “A guide to
heating your home with heat emitters on low temperature systems”, “The evolution of the central heating radiator with a focus on safety radiators” and “The difference in tubular radiators, specifications and dimensions which impact the heat available.” They all take around an hour and they are all free. For more information or to book a CPD session at your place of work if you prefer that to working online, call 01709 578950 or email

eading air source heat pump manufacturer LG is offering a renewable heating and hot water solution that is making new build developers sit up and take notice. With recent announcements from Government about the decarbonisation of heating in the UK, the spotlight has been trained on the use of proven renewable technology to provide our heating and hot water. Air to Water Heat Pump (AWHP) systems monoblocs or splits present energysaving options for a home¹s heating and hot water system. By using these heat pumps in a new build property or replacing a traditional gas, oil, or solid fuel system in an existing property, an AWHP can significantly reduce carbon emissions and energy usage. These device¹s absorption of natural energy from external air makes them consume less energy than conventional heating systems. Most homes in the UK are ideal for a Monobloc air to water heat pump. A Split system is an option generally for more complex installations and it can be installed up to 30m away from the home, which gives far more installation flexibility. The new LG R32 Monobloc range has already had a massive impact on the residential heat pump market. The unit is compact, meeting permitted planning permission guidelines, has a low GWP and an energy rating label of A+++. The new Monobloc units incorporate a new Scroll Type Compressor with a seasonal efficiency improvement of 7% over the previous rotary compressor.

LG units offer quicker response times for the
provision of heating and cooling, by sensing not only the temperature but also pressure a pressure control sensor provides a faster and more accurate response, reducing the time delay for implementing heating or cooling commands significantly. The addition of pressure control enables the Therma V R32 Monobloc to take less time to reach the desired temperatures, with up to 44% quicker response in heating.
