EDITOR’S COMMENT & CONTENTS We’re all dreaming of a summer holiday T

he further through the year we get, the more the desire for a holiday builds… I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Lockdown has been a revolutionary experience for industries and individuals but as with all forced situations it plays havoc with patience. As the government unlocks various areas of opportunity in the world of travel, the temptation to book a week somewhere exotic and beautiful understandably

grows. However, the shockwaves of this pandemic have impacted every aspect of holiday life as well as the rest.

This issue our Hotels & Leisure Focus looks at leading technology and sustainability practices in the world of wellbeing, as well as how swimming pools and spas will be affected by new health regulations currently being put in place.

The latest government plan to support apprenticeships, including £2,000 for every employer who takes on an apprentice and

£1,000 to any willing to take on new trainees, designed to create new jobs for any 16 to 24-year-old, shows that: as we continue down the road to recovery, learning and adapting to the changes we have to make is the greatest tool we have. The BCIA sums up their latest activities to gather new talent as well as how they’ve adapted their own practices in the name of health and safety.
