KW has added tough new SOLID-BOX to its range of plastic enclosures for test and measurement electronics.
SOLID-BOX (IP 66, IP 67) has IK 08 impact protection, making it ideal for devices used in challenging industrial and outdoor environments. The enclosures are also well suited to test and measurement equipment, IIoT, Industry 4.0, security and safety engineering.
SOLID-BOX is available in three standard sizes. All the enclosures are moulded from tough PC+ABS (UL 94 V-0) in anthracite grey or light grey. They can be installed ‘lid closed’ – ensuring any finely calibrated electronics inside remain accurate. The lid is recessed for a membrane keypad, while the bottom has deep recesses to protect connectors.
Other enclosures in OKW’s test and measurement range include handheld DATEC-COMPACT for multimeter-type devices, PROTEC for table-top calibration units, and MINI-DATA-BOX sensor housings that can be cable-tied or screwed in place quickly and easily.

TITAN ENTERPRISES GOES ‘BACK TO BASICS’ WITH FLOW METER SENSORS

iquid flow meter specialist Titan Enterprises, has published a technical review of pulse sensors for flow measurement devices and applications. “Deciding on the best flow meter for a particular application can be problematic,” states Neil Hannay, Senior R&D Engineer with Titan Enterprises. “There is such a wide array of sensing and output technology
combinations, each with its advantages and disadvantages. We wanted to pull together a technical explanation of flowmeter sensors and pulse output types so users can choose the one that will give them the most efficient system operation.” Flow meters have developed into many forms over the years, from mechanical devices – such as a turbine or rotating gear - which rely on measurement of a rotational component, to devices that use ultrasound and other advanced technologies. These meters generally use a sensor to relay the flow measurements to a reading device.
