GENERAL PURPOSE SELF-AMPLIFIED HYDROPHONE

T

he H505L is designed as a small and versatile, self- amplified hydrophone for general purpose applications

and a wide variety of underwater acoustic measurements. Built to withstand continuous underwater exposure both in salt and fresh water, the unit is rugged yet low-cost. An internal ultra low-noise amplifier reduces the output impedance thus eliminating triboelectric cable noise and connector contamination problems, and the requirement for an expensive in-line amplifier.

The hydrophone and cable entry are completely encapsulated in polyurethane. This alleviates the problem of water intrusion caused by cathodic action.

Typical applications for the H505L include underwater biological studies, ship noise studies, pump and machinery studies etc.

SENSOR TECHNOLOGY KEEPS HYDRAULIC PROJECTS ON COURSE

T

orqSense wireless sensors from Sensor Technology are playing an important role in

new product development for Hydraulic Projects Limited (Hy-Pro), a developer and supplier of hydraulic drive units for marine steering and autopilot systems. The sensors, measuring shaft torque, provide

the data that Hy-Pro needs to refine the design of the electrically powered pump assemblies used in the hydraulic steering systems that the company supplies. Developing suitable pump assemblies for

marine applications in small vessels is challenging. The motors operate economically as electrical power is usually derived from batteries with limited capacity, yet the pump systems must be able to supply high power when needed, to ensure that the steering systems operate reliably. To ensure that its products offer the best possible performance in relation to these

requirements, Hy-Pro is evaluating improvements to its pump drive systems Sensor Technology  01869 238400  ww.sensors.co.uk

TEMPERATURE MONITORING FOR METALS AND STEEL

F

luke Process Instruments presents its range of thermal profilers and infrared

temperature measurement solutions at the THERMPROCESS trade fair. The latest addition to the IR pyrometer portfolio, Thermalert 4.0, enables automatic noncontact temperature monitoring in a -40…2250 °C range. Due to the outstanding ambient temperature range of -20…85 °C, more measuring points can be set up without cooling. Another IR innovation, the industrial-grade thermal imager ThermoView TV40 with an integrated visible-light camera, is also on show. The fixed-installation thermal camera enables 24/7 temperature monitoring in a -10…1200 °C range. Developed to meet today’s demanding industrial automation requirements, it supports GigE streaming of images and automatic alarms. The manufacturer’s thermal profiling systems are represented by Datapaq TP3 data loggers, featuring up to 20 thermocouple channels and outstanding 3.6 million data points memory capacity. The loggers enable temperature uniformity surveys (TUS) and in-process product temperature monitoring.

italtech's new building automation enclosure gives manufacturers complete freedom to customise and personalise form and function.

· Adapts to a wide range of home and industrial automation functions · Ideally suited to housing setting, measurement, detection, access control and sensor instrumentation

· Simple, ergonomic press-and-turn operation · Universal rear wall attachment

Building automation keeps getting smarter, now capable of doing everything from managing the ambient temperature to controlling security camera feeds. Now, the aesthetics of building automation enclosure design are catching up with the capabilities.

Hitaltech's Eyebox range takes an altogether rounder, more compact approach to the traditional square/rectangular enclosure.

More in less

The enclosure may be small - with 60mm, 110mm and 160mm options - but the simple user interface hides a multitude of possible options, including measurement displays, settings (e.g. for lighting or temperature), movement sensors, access controls, security camera controls and more.

Hitaltech  01253 899910 MORE THAN JUST DIGITAL PANEL METERS M

ore than just digital panel meters, these versatile instruments can perform many precision signal processing functions, as well as controlling processes and providing

alarm functions.

They have been designed to be easy to use, saving you valuable time on-site. We believe they are the most user-friendly process monitoring instruments on the market.

Economical and UK-made, with long warranty and support direct from the designers, London Electronics Ltd has much to offer in the INTUITIVE and FUSION family of process monitoring and control displays, with over 25 years of experience.

They are suited for monitoring, displaying and controlling any physical variable such as weight, torque, temperature, pressure, humidity, RPM, total, takt time, production rate, 4 wire resistance measurement, clock time and ampere hours.

These controllers can have up to 4 alarm relays, isolated high precision 4-20mA or 0-10V analogue output , serial communications and sensor excitation. They also have logic inputs for Hold, Tare, Reset, Print, Peak/Valley, Nett/Gross etc.

Options can be installed easily on site. AC or DC power versions are available. Digit height can be chosen from 14mm up to 400mm for clear viewing in any installation.

Cloud-based Data logging is also available, so you can access and share your data remotely without needing USB sticks or memory cards. Graphing is standard and can be used on any device, PC, Mac, Phone etc, without needing to download software. We also offer wireless connectivity, adding to the broad appeal of this family of instruments London Electronics also make a wide range of industrial message displays, used in prestige manufacturing facilities, worldwide.
