MAGNETIC INDUCTIVE FLOW SENSOR T

he robust VMZ.2 magnetic inductive flow sensor is the second generation from SIKA Dr. Siebert &

Kühn. Its special design is said to make it highly cost effective and it is packed with technical features. It is specifically designed for OEM

applications and is now available with 4- 20mA / 0-10VDC output. This flow sensor includes an unobstructed

pipe cross-section with no projecting or moving parts to avoid additional pressure drop. The VMZ.2 is unaffected by changes in viscosity, density, pressure or temperature. The use of plastic components means that the new flow sensor is both light and compact, making it suitable for use in mobile applications. The flow sensor can be used with conductive liquids, particularly in places where

some flow sensors with moving parts cannot be used due to clogging of media. It constantly measures volumetric flow rates and ensures precise dispensing of liquids over a wide measuring range.

NEW, 4X20 HIGH CONTRAST OLED DISPLAY WITH SPI AND I²C

M

MS Electronics Ltd added a 4x20 COG alphanumeric OLED display to the

popular OLED displays. The EA OLEDM204 functions as a 4x20, 3x20 or 2x20 display. The display is a slim design and can be plugged into a 0.1” pitch socket or soldered directly into the PCB. No ZIF sockets, fasteners or glueing is required hence saving assembly cost. OLEDdisplays offer excellent readability, high contrast, wide viewing angle and fast response time over the whole temperature range of -40°C to +80°C. SPI and I2C Interface. The displays have a scratch and UV protective glass with a polarizer for a deep black background. An evaluation board EA 9781-1USB is available to help with development. The board also works with the graphic displays EA OLEDS102-6 (102x64 pixel / 36x25 VA), EA OLEDM128-6 (128x64 / 51x31 VA) and larger EA OLEDL128-6 (128x64 / 64x37 VA). MMS Electronics Ltd in Leeds is the authorised UK distributor for Electronic Assembly Gmbh / Display Visions.

INTELLIGENT PUMP CONTROL RESETS THE BAR FOR HIGH PRESSURE COOLANT DELIVERY

W

anner has introduced intelligent pump control for its Hydra-Cell pumps that it

claims will generate significant savings while improving machined part quality. High pressure coolant pumps are

traditionally set to accommodate the tool in the carousel with the largest coolant flow requirement. When tools with smaller orifices are employed, the unneeded coolant is returned to the supply tank through a bypass valve. This system is wasteful of power, heats up the coolant unnecessarily and reduces the life of the pump itself. Hydra-Cell Intelligent pump control is an

open loop system without pressure gauges and complex electrical feedback loops. It delivers just the right flow of coolant to maintain the required system pressure, regardless of tool orifice size. As well as reducing the power requirement, coolant chillers can be smaller and

consume less energy. Wanner

ESAB DIGITAL SOLUTIONS OPTIMISE CUTTING AND WELDING OPERATIONS

T

o help fabricators and manufacturers drive continuous

improvement in traceability, documentation, asset management, productivity and quality, ESAB Welding & Cutting Products demonstrated its new ESAB Digital Solutions platform at EuroBLECH which took place in Hannover, Germany. ESAB Digital Solutions, including

ESAB WeldCloud and ESAB CutCloud, connect digital ecosystems for manual/robotic/automated welding and cutting automation, respectively. At Euroblech, ESAB showcased a new architecture, powered by Microsoft Azure IoT and utilising the ThingWorx® Industrial Innovation Platform from PTC.

“We collaborated with Microsoft because Azure allows for a reliable and secure

architecture that sends data from a digitally connected-system directly to the cloud,” says Mike Pantaleano, VP Data Driven Advantage/Digital Solutions, ESAB. “Eliminating the need for an on-premise server or large IT infrastructure especially helps job shops and smaller operations gain the benefits of data management.

CODEL INTERNATIONAL RELEASES NEW ENERGYTECH RANGE

E

nergyTech is a new range of gas and particulate

analysers focused on power generation process, safety and efficiency. The EnergyTech 101 is a low cost optical dust/smoke monitor, the 301 is a new tribo-electric dust monitor that can be used in indicative and calibrated modes. The EnergyTech 200 series

is a new range of mill, silo and other combustion process monitors. This analyser has both Carbon Monoxide and Oxygen measurement capability. The key innovation on this analyser is a new extractive system that removes the need for intrusive probes which are eroded by abrasive coal dust and need changing on a regular basis. This unique, proven solution from CODEL International will dramatically reduce the cost and downtime of the plant. CODEL offer a full range of emissions and process monitors for a wide range of

industrial applications. CODEL
