Highly adaptable blue silicone rubber vacuum pad S

MC has extended its range of vacuum pads with the ZP3P which has an enhanced design for stable adsorption and handling. It features a thin and soft pad skirt, with reduced leakage and a strong grip, making it suitable for working with thin workpieces that deform during adsorption. Furthermore, the flat shape of the vacuum pad with a central stopper creates a surface that does not damage or deface the product and prevents wrinkles on thin materials

such as vinyl and film.

The pad is made from a silicone rubber that is compliant with the FDA 21CFR§177.2600 elution test. Its blue in colour can be spotted easily during contamination inspections, making it suitable for the food and medical sectors.

The pad design of the ZP3P is suitable for a wide range of applications such as film packaging, palletising, printing and labelling.

Measurement of high viscosity glucose B

 01908 563888  www.smc.eu

ell Flow Systems was recently approached by a production line specialist. They had been asked to

measure the flow of glucose in a newly built processing plant for a large, UK-based soft drinks manufacturer. Bell Flow offered a Macnaught oval gear type positive

displacement meter. This particular range of meters is constructed from food grade stainless steel. With high viscosity stainless steel rotors capable of measuring viscosities over 10,000 centipoise. Hygienic tri-clamp connections, FDA approval, and locally-mounted IP67 rated batch controllers completed the selection.

The oval gear meter principle ensures flexibility of installation. There are no straight lengths of pipe needed,

permitting vertical or horizontal installation. Additionally, these meters create an exceptionally low pressure drop - which was critical to the application.

ESAB partners with Proactive Gas Safety for CP7 Gas Equipment Inspector Training Courses E

SAB, a world leader in welding and cutting technologies, is excited to be entering into a partnering with Proactive Gas Safety Ltd (PGS) for the

provision of Oxy-Fuel CP7 Inspector courses, with successful candidates being awarded a nationally accredited EAL (Excellence in Achievement LTD) Level 3 QCF Qualification (Qualifications and Credit Framework) This is the highest level of achievement available for compressed gas safety training in the UK and qualifies individuals to undertake annual inspections of oxy- acetylene/propane equipment as required by BCGA CP7 (British Compressed Gases Association Code of Practice 7). Under this scheme, successful completion of the two-day course and QCF Qualification provides a three-year Gas Safety Passport for inspecting gas equipment. The credit card-sized Gas Safety Passport shows the Accredited Inspector’s photograph, the date on which the course was taken and the date on which re-certification is required.

HBM sets new standards with new ClipX signal conditioner

N

ow available from HBM – a market leader in test and measurement – is the revolutionary new ClipX signal

conditioner, which sets new standards in industrial process control by simply integrating into existing machines and production systems. Designed to optimise production processes, ClipX is a dynamic signal conditioner that not only amplifies signals and transfers them to the control unit, without any interference but also completes preliminary calculations and summaries, to reduce the load on higher level controls. This means that the innovative new ClipX is able to

accomplish some of the tasks that would otherwise be taken on by the higher-level controller. Suitable for monitoring and measuring tasks in test

benches, machines and production plants, ClipX can be used as a standalone device or as part of a system of networked devices.
